This home on Lake Huron is an absolute gem! The pictures don't do it justice. The first time you drive in, youâre just smiling ear-to-ear at the lovely view of the water right at your doorstep. The beach is sandy and the water just takes your breath away. Thereâs a wooden swing beckoning, a picnic table, and a fire pit calling you to some leisurely evenings around a fire. The house is big enough for everyone to spread out and also open enough to share space together. It is light and airy with an openness to the big lake that is so alluring. The furnishings are comfortable and the bedrooms well appointed. The spaces are all clean and inviting. The garage and âdownstairsâ rooms have space that will thrill the kids. Youâll find ping pong, yard games, videos, books, card games, board games, poker chips and activity nooks throughout the home. Look around and you will find something fun to do.
Kayaks and life jackets of all sizes are provided. Swimming, kayaking (a local shipwreck is about 2 miles to the north along the shoreline), walking the beach, collecting rocksâall of this is right here.
Some nice amenities included:
- ample parking for multiple vehicles
- sizable yard for playing lawn games, catch, running about
- swingset for the youngsters
- kitchen well stocked with cleaning supplies, etc.
- ample shared spices and coffee/coffee filters/Kuerig cups to get you well into your stay
- very good assortment of cooking utensils and pots/pans
- good assortment of kitchen appliances to include a blender, toaster, crock pot, and more
Things to do in the area: Ocqueoc Falls, state parks, the Huron Sunrise Bike Trail from PH Hoeft State Park, Cheboygan touring was fun, the Cheboygan Museum is a fun visit, (the old jailhouse was interesting and fun for all, even the kids), Mackinac Island (ride Sheplerâs at certain morning sail times and you get a free experience of crossing beneath the Mighty Mac), several nearby lighthouses (most impressive was the New Presque Isle, but the Old Presque Isle, also worth the time, had some sizable bells you can ring). The evening here brings a dark sky experience for star-gazing, and the morning brings the sunrise.
We would certainly recommend this house to anyone wanting a quiet space with room for togetherness. The owners were very responsive to questions. You will love what they are sharing!
