Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Regency in Milwaukee. The location is very central to everything for sports or business trips. The room was clean, beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom had hot water with very good water pressure. The TV had a lot of stations. We did notice that the elevators needed to be vacuumed and the doors and door knobs for the parking garage were pretty beat up and dirty. We also noticed that our room's furniture was sort of banged up, though it was clean. The building is overall in good shape, but the rooms need new furniture and finishings. I love the '80s styles and vibes of this building. The glass-view elevators are still as cool as they probably were in the '80s. I love the circular ballroom at the top of the building - it's very '80s futuristic. Plus, this is a historically important site where an assassin tried to kill Pres. Theodore Roosevelt in 1912. The architecture and the historical significance of this building really made me rate it 5 stars instead of 4 stars.

Not so good

Late check in; room was booked as two bed; at check in told reservation was changed to King bed; I did not make that change; no two bed rooms available; we took the king and made due; room was sprayed with some type of deodorizer when we got to room - so strong it made you cough; this was not a good experience at all.

I stay here about once a month; this was the first time my room was not ready and got a cot with a king bed. The person in front of us was given free parking and still got the room they reserved while I was offered nothing to accommodate the inconvenience. This is a great location, clean and normally more hospitable.

Not the Best Stay

Arrived at 7:35pm and our room was not ready. Told us to wait and they would text us when ready. Check-in was to be at 3pm. 35 min later I had a text and proceeded to again wait in the line of people 20 deep to check in AGAIN. Hotel had given several families on our team with food and drink vouchers for their trouble. Nothing for us. Two of the four elevators were down. For the hundreds of people in the building even 4 working elevators wouldn’t be enough. No luggage carts made available so multiple trips up and down the stairs. Spent way too much time waiting on an elevator- ridiculous. Overnight the building smelled so strong of weed- everyone was complaining. For a “non-smoking” establishment it was pretty awful. Cleaning staff were VERY friendly and kind. Front desk staff were rude and seemed like they were doing everyone a favor by being there.
