Let me start by saying that we had a GREAT time. There are many wonderful things about this house that we greatly enjoyed. It's rather large, and having two bunk rooms with 4 beds each was great for our large family. (8 adults and 11 kids) The back yard space is really nice until you get down to the water. This is where the negatives start. The listing states "deep water dock". This simply isn't true. It's maybe 2 feet, filled with weeds and algae. We had dreams of renting a lake house where our kids could jump off the dock and swim. No one is going to swim in that swamp. Also, we were unable to get our jet boat into the dock without paddling it the last/first 1/4 mile. Very disappointing. Also, the listing states that there are 7 kayaks and 7 SUP boards, there were probable 7 kayaks, but only 3 paddles, and 2 SUP boards. They were also filthy and we needed to clean them prior to use. The peddle boat, that was also disgusting and filled with water. Unusable. Even after spending nearly an hour cleaning it and trying to drain it, there was still too much water in the hull. Back inside, the place was clean enough for me, but some of my extended family commented on how dirty the place was. The rugs were a bit dusty, but it really wasn't that bad, again, I thought the place was fairly clean. A dirty pair of women's underwear were found between the couch cushions, gross. Upon arrival, we found the downstairs (basement let's pause to mention that the listing refers to it as a l
Overall, the house and location were great! It had the perfect amount of beds and baths for our large groups of 16. The yard was a great size for the kids to run, play kickball or just relax in the hammocks. The paddle boards and kayaks were such a fun experience, though we still needed to bring more of our own due to the size of our group. One thing to note is that the photos made it seem like there was a beach and swimming area on site, which there wasnât. You could take the kayaks out into the water a little ways to swim, or take a short drive to the beach area down the road. The gas grill was out of propane, which we could have gone out and purchased, but chose not to. We would definitely rent again in the future!
This house is absolutely amazing! The pictures do not do it justice. We absolutely loved our trip and could not have asked for a better home. The host was extremely patient with all of my questions and extremely responsive. Thank you for making it so amazing. This house is sooooo much larger and better than anyone could expect. I highly recommend it to anyone.
Overall, this place was amazing! Few hiccups that we felt could be better (such as not having enough Toilet paper, paper towels, etc). The stove malfunctioned at times. Beyond that we had an absolute amazing time. Very relaxing with kayaks, paddle boats, hammocks, fishing, sandbox and playset, campfire, etc). We recommend this place to everyone!!!
Our family of 15 with all the grandkids had plenty of space to play inside - and on the nice days to be outside on the play equipment and jogging/walking through the neighborhood. Wonderful time, with a kitchen big enough for our large crowd, and rooms for small gatherings - and for all of us. Owner answered questions right away. Everything was wonderful. We even had a spare bedroom, for wrapping Christmas presents.
This house was great for our Thanksgiving family get away. We had 3 generations and 3 families staying together. So the amount of rooms and bathrooms were important and worked well for us. We enjoyed the separate spaces too. Thereâs a separate family room and living room and the downstairs with the game room. You could go have a bit of peace if you needed. The kitchen was great for all of our Thanksgiving cooking needs. We cook a lot :) We took the kayaks and pedal boat out too. Not too much since it was so cold. They have hammocks and a fire pit in the yard that were great as well. Overall a very nice stay for my family and weâd recommend this house to anyone.
We had a great stay at this property! The house is incredibly spacious, and the large yard was perfect for outdoor activities. We loved using the provided kayaks and paddle boat, and the life jackets made it easy to enjoy the lake. The back porch and hammocks were fantastic for relaxing, and the check-in process was smooth and simple.
However, we did have a few concerns. The house could have been cleaner â there were quite a few bugs, both alive and dead, and the carpets and beds were messy. We also would have appreciated clearer check-out instructions, as we were unsure of certain details like whether to strip the beds or specific things to lock up.
Overall, itâs a beautiful home with great amenities, but some improvements in cleanliness and communication would make it even better.
Our group of 11 old fogies had so much fun at Karlene's place. We had ample beds and baths, and multiple living spaces meant nobody felt cramped. Great amenities! We ate in the large dining room or outside at picnic tables, whiwas lovely . was loWe made.the most of k
The location was amazing, in a secluded area of the lake so the preteens could go out on the kayaks and still be supervised. There was a ton to do for all ages, we didnât even have to really leave for entertainment. Our only complaint was that the 7th bedroom in the basement didnât have a window. That seems like a safety hazard.
this property suited our needs nicely. it was clean and well-kept, and amenities like games and water equipment were great to have. Owners were responsive to a few questions along the way.
This house and property were exactly what our extended family needed. The property was wonderful - plenty of room for playing outside, a small beach, a fishing dock, and many kayaks and paddle boards. The layout of the house allowed the early birds and night owls to do their things without disturbing any others. The neighborhood was bikable and the community pool was quite nice.
We paid over $7000 for this very underwhelming house. On top of major construction happening next door-a tractor and dump trailer were in our back yard the 1st day & heavy machinery made fishing off our pier futile much of our stay-when fishing was the only recreational activity feasible at the mud hole you are told is water front. Itâs so far back an inlet, 5 min on a jet ski gets you to open water suitable to swim in. No watching anyone on the lake from house.
This is the 1st property weâve ever stayed at without a walk out lower level. This true basement had 3 dungeon bedrooms to share 1 bath & no way to play the ping pong or air hockey w/out seriously disrupting others in the echoey space. The main floor has 1/2 bath. Period. ALL the rest of the bathrooms are on the top floor. 3 full baths for the 4 bedrooms. If you get a bedroom up there, youâll be good. But anyone else in any other part of the house will feel crapped on. VERY inconvenient for toddlers or elderly.
The actual living space in this home is nowhere near the purported 6000 sqft listed. Thatâs why they show no pics of front of house. Shows actual size. We arrived and thought maps messed up. Also the owner left a huge camper parked in center of drive. Moved it the last day. No hot tub. Not even a jetted tub. No true master. Add to this, the house was filthy. They offered to have cleaners come in and ârecleanâ. No thank you with 14 of us crammed into this place. Offered $200 credit, then blocked me! Beware!
This is a nice property and well suited for a large group. It had everything we needed. Just keep in mind that the water access is not great from the yard because the lake is low but you can kayak or paddle board from the property, launch a boat from the neighborhood ramp, or go to the neighborhood beach area. The owners were very responsive and helpful!
Wonderful time with family. All enjoyed the boats, the bumper pool table, and the outdoor chairs. We liked the privacy and the kitchen had everything we needed.
If there was a drawback, the water level went down after a few days and it was very muddy but we did go to the local beach for a cleaner swim.
One comment was that cotton sheets would have been better than the microfiber ones provided. Overall, we were happy with the home.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in Karleenâs beautiful home. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need. The bathrooms had plenty of supplies for everyone. There is a dining room table big enough for our family of 11. And a dedicated puzzle table!! The 4 kids (3-12) loved the downstairs bunk room/TV/game area. And they had a ball on the water transporting the adults on their peddle boat/kayak train ferry. đ The fishing (who caught the biggest sunny?) was great and the water temp was perfect for Grandma. (me!) to float for hours while the kids splashed around. The house and grounds are huge and in excellent condition. The beds are soft and cushy (LOVE those Tempurpedic toppers!) plenty of pillows to go around. I canât think of one single thing that is lacking here. Karleen was super responsive when we couldnât figure out why the outside outlets didnât work (simple GFCI reset). I highly recommend this property for your next vacation.
