The receptionist must have been having a very bad day as never quite had that unfriendly a welcome - first words in brisk tone - I need your ID - no talk - now a credit card - no welcome - just brisk . Can forgive having a bad day but at work with customers and first stay there - may need a bit more training with FAKE it until you make it ?

The hotel is a converted old post office which was cool. The room are gigantic and very comfortable and the breakfast was great with a nice selection. Our room was very clean along with all the hallways. The train station is only a short walk way so getting to the ball stadium or any sporting stadium is a breeze. The hockey arena was about a 15 min walk away and easy. The only issue we had with is the signage of the hotel is awkward and hard to see when driving. We missed it the first time and had to loop around the block.

Really great experience at this hotel. The room we stayed in was huge. We struggled with parking because I didn't look ahead on where to park. There is a parking garage across the street. Breakfast was amazing! And every time we spoke with staff, they were nice and helpful. My only request is dairy free coffee creamer. Good restaurants within walking distance and to Xcel/River Centre.

Taking the train? Stay at Hyatt Place!

Perfect place to stay if you are taking the Borealis or Empire Builder to Union Depot. An incredibly short walk from Depot to hotel. Great proximity to take the light rail all over the cities and plenty of food throughout the day in Lowertown. The hotel has HUGE rooms & high ceilings due to it being the old Post Office & Customs House. Close to the Mississippi River & parks. Very good free breakfast and helpful friendly staff. Fitness center is great & pool is small but fun for family.

Staff was not customer service friendly, seemed like everytime I had a question I was bothering them. Ask for extra towels and request did not happen, I had to ask housekeeping when I saw them for the towels. Parking was not explained properly, stairway was closed on 9pm at night and I had to walk all the way around and felt very unsafe. I have been at the Drury many times this was the first and last time year. Not warm and fuzzy feeling at all. Breakfast comparison to Drury Hotel not as good either.
