I love the Villa Grande neighborhood and it was a joy to stay there. The house (and hot tub!) were very clean. Beds were comfy. The two issues were (1) the codes did not open the front door or garage, and we had to call Vacasa to get the lockbox code to get physical keys to get in. The door thing was loose and it was challenging to lock and unlock. (2) we had to do some laundry and while it was running, none of the sinks or showers would run any water. Otherwise it took over 5 minutes to get the water warm-hot and water pressure was generally low.
If you are looking for a quiet wooded location this is your spot. We love that this house allows us to bring our dog. The kitchen and living room are very open which is perfect for cooking, visiting, playing games, curling up with a book or watching a movie. The trees that surround the house and neighborhood are magical. We love the hot tub (replaced this year - very nice!), the beds are comfortable and amenities meet our needs.
We actually spent most of our 10 days here away from the house, hiking, going out, and visiting friends. So we never used the hot tub or grill. Didn't get to use the beach, since the River was so high it practically wiped out the beach.
Spacious & well appointed, nestled in a forest setting. We had lively events to attend and it was wonderful to return to Summerhouse and enjoy the tranquility. Sharing afternoon wine on the porch was a gift.
We liked a lot about this place, especially how close it is to a local swimming hole on the river. The unit was small, but well-equipped.
However we had a major issue with the rental and have yet to hear back from the property manager. The bed in the master bedroom was extremely uncomfortable. It felt like you were sinking into the middle, like a hammock. I couldnât sleep in it and ended up making my kid sleep in it! The morning we left, we looked underneath the bed and found that it was broken!! It was missing several supports in the middle of the bed. We wrote to the company to complain and only heard back from their corporate customer service team that they would forward to local management.
On top of that there were a bunch of smaller issues that didnât make for a great stay. The hot tub had a funky smell that indicated poor maintenance and so we never used it, the drawer in the bedside table was broken â it just fell out when you opened it, and several of the shade curtain strings didnât work.
We were also hoping to have a peaceful morning on the front deck, but couldnât because there was loud construction one day and incessant dog barking across the street the next morning.
Unfortunately I would NOT recommend this place or any place managed by Vacasa. We have had issues in the past with rentals managed by them.
We have stayed here twice. We like the location and the comfort and amenities are more than adequate for our purposes. We have vacationed in the village of Villa Grande for over 50 years at a family cabin now owned by other family. This Summerhouse provides the room and location we need to visit friends and family and enjoy the surrounding area.
House is very nicely appointed, kitchen is well stocked with nice selection of spices. Gas fire stove not only creates ambiance, but quickly takes off morning chill. Roomy shower and very comfortable parking area are a plus I have not seen in other places I have stayed in this area
