Beautiful hotel and convenient location

Great location, easily accessible to downtown Monterey and short driving distance to Pacific Grove and Carmel. Lots of amazing restaurants within walking distance as well as wine tasting rooms. The hotel lounge is massive and has a restaurant that’s open throughout the day. Rooms are clean and spacious. Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating.

Perfect in every way

Amazing experience. Lobby, rooms were clean and pristine. My room had a balcony which was great. Though it over saw a street, still the trees and lights in the evening and night made it a great spot to just stand. The parking was a walk though you can use the valet and other service to get your luggage up. Very very close to the wharf and plenty of restaurants, bike/walk paths. Over all a great experience.

We had a pet staying with us and two food items were under the bed from previous stays which our dog sniffed out and could have potentially eaten, one had chocolate in it which is unsafe for dogs - so need to clean under beds as well, it was a whole granola bar piece and a fish pill. Otherwise stay was fine, hot tub was nice.

We read that this hotel was family friendly and were excited! We booked 2 rooms for the grandparents, us and the kids. I called a few days ahead to ask about parking earlier in the day before check-in, requesting a crib and connecting rooms. When we arrived, the hotel parking entrance was blocked due to a morning event. I tried calling the hotel but no one picked up and the cop directing traffic said there was no way in or out. It would have been nice to get a heads up from the staff when we called earlier in the week that there was a morning event and to provide alternative parking options. Luckily we saw a parking garage nearby that we paid for and later moved to Portola and paid for that. When we checked in, the staff said we had connecting rooms as requested but upon getting to our rooms, they were not connected. I called guest services and the manager picked up, reviewed and apologized that they don’t have any available. They should have just said that in the beginning. Not a big deal. At check in, they didn’t see a crib requested so they put in a request. When we got to our room, it was there. However someone came to our room later with another crib. For cleanliness, we noticed the glasses, mugs and Keurig machine were dusty. There were also two small flies in our room at the desk and one of the hand towels in the bathroom had a dead ant. We also had three bath towels when they knew we had two children. It’s nice but the communication and cleanliness needs work.

Terrible parking, took too long to get to vehicle. Staff did not tell us it was pride day and that getting into the parking lot was limited. Staff should always inform guests if there is an event and that parking may be a challenge to get to. Mattress was moved too much, bathroom door rotted, and bathroom counter was stained.
