Great location; decent-sized room, but dated and not well-maintained. Wallpaper was torn, front door looked splashed with paint all over. Jacuzzi tub worked but was worn. Certain areas weren't as clean as I'd like

We love staying here, it’s the perfect get away, close to the beach and so quiet. We were greeted so nicely by the man at the front desk and our room was very clean. We stayed Friday to Monday but housekeeping didn’t come once to check linens or empty trash. We had to ask for clean towels and after 2 hours, housekeeping didn’t come so we got towels from the office. The lack of housekeeping was disappointing. The only thing I’d say to “fix,” would be to caulk the bathtub, it had none. We will still continue to come back and enjoy our time at this location.

I have mixed feelings about this place. We stay in PG at least 3 times a year and all of the hotels are a bit quirky so if you want modern, stay in Monterey or Carmel. Pros: The welcome was warm and friendly, but our room was not ready. The location is fabulous because you are in the forest and only a 10 minute walk to the beach. The room had largish towels that were fairly soft. The room was quiet even though there were many people staying at the hotel. The kleenex was soft. The room had a working microwave, fridge and a separate sink by the coffee maker. Loved that you could wake up and walk to Pheobe's cafe for breakfast then sit on the dunes and watch the waves while you eat. It has a fireplace and a large tub. Cons: Breakfast is not included. The room was dark and sad with lots of brown and beige. Most beach rooms are white, green or blue. I thought the bed was okay, but my husband did not like it. He felt like he was falling off the bed all night because they put a huge mattress cushion on top of the bed. The sheets were a bit scratchy. The window screens were broken. The wallpaper was coming off in at least 6 different places. Just peel it off and paint it a more cheerful color. The toilet paper was very thin. There were only 2 towels and a foot towel. There were no hand towels or even an extra towel for my hair. This place looks like no one loves it which makes me sad because the location is fabulous.

Reviews I had read were unkind, but mostly true. Fireplace and jacuzzi didnt work. Bathroom needed some upkeep, but all in all it was clean, comfy bed and peaceful. Across from Asilomar and the beach. Good location and office staff was friendly and efficient.

property is nicely located across from Asilomar which has walking trails that allow beach access quiet in the woods feel, along with dune access to beach. the room did have some issues, lamps not working, and plumbing in bath, loose faucet which didnt close properly, and loose handle in bath which falls off. we still enjoyed the stay.

My husband and I booked a suite and it was a cozy stay 10/10! The jetted tub was definitely a plus the fireplace adds a nice ambience- we'll plan on coming back for sure

Needs work

Nice people let me check in early, but this place is in real need of repairs. The bathroom in particular was in unusually bad shape, and I don't typically care about that sort of thing. Fireplace didn't work either. Comfy bed though!
