Very nice place. The room and bathroom were clean and attractive. Bed was comfortable. You can walk to several decent restaurants. The Metro is an easy 5 minute walk away. We didn’t use the outdoor pool but it looked nice.

No microwave in the room, poor connection. One workable power outlet, staff contradiction one says you want popcorn. It'll cost you $10 for a night for the microwave or you can bring it to us and we'll pop, the other one says no we are not allowed to do that. Going up was terrible trying to bring the cart because it was the stairs in between the floors and the first floor was partially up and then after the stairs the rest of the floor was there. Terrible layout and a view of another back of the building. Terrible

Room was a poor attempt at a modern-ish reno. Dirty and dusty. Questionable stains on many surfaces. Bathroom was falling apart and overall just unpleasant to be in that room. Not worth the price, not sure how that hotel has the rating it has.

Swimming pool was very clean and spacious. Hotel is located directly next to a subway station. Free parking is also a major plus! The only downside is the street it’s on is always extremely busy.

The kitchenette was a good addition, and quite workable even though it was small. A dish drying towel would be a good addition. The air-conditioning unit was exceptionally dusty and needed to be cleaned. As well, the baseboards were not attached to the wall. The pullout couch cushions were worn and dirty. It was not a renovated room, and I did not expect it to be, but would love to see things be cleaner than they were. The bed linens were very clean and comfortable!

Our room was generally comfortable, and the hotel appeared to be in reasonable condition. We had several issues with functioning items in the room (coffee maker, alarm clock, lamp). The staff seemed uncoordinated and unable to fully resolve the issues, and the room was slow to be cleaned.

The property is really well situated with free parking. However our room the door lock was broken and couldn't lock from the inside. The maintenance person gave us attitude as to why we needed our door lock to work from the inside. The room had a strong smell of cleaning products. We were given another room and that room as well had a strong smell coming from the shower curtain in the bathroom. We were too tired to exchange once again room. The hotel is old and run down, it could definitely use some maintenance and renovation.

Decent Location, Poor Cleanliness Great location - only 5 minutes from the train station. Staff was friendly and the bed was comfortable enough. The bathroom was reasonably clean. However, the room clearly needed a deep clean. There were stains on walls, dirt in corners, behind furniture, around door frames, and areas like faucet handles and behind the toilet that showed neglect. When I reported this to management with photos, the manager spoke with me and offered to send someone right away, but I was busy at the moment. Unfortunately, there was no follow-up afterwards - I expected at least some attempt to follow up or offer a room change later. Good for the convenient location, but the deep cleaning standards need serious improvement and follow-through on guest concerns is lacking.

I asked to be in the new part of the hotel and I was put into the old part, but a redone room which was horrible. I changed rooms, again asking for a room in the new section and was again put in the old part of the hotel. While the room has been updated, the ambience, lighting and design are horrible. You feel like you are in an institution. The interior designer for these newly refurbished rooms should never again be hired to do design. I did not appreciate twice requesting a room in the new part of the build and being sent to the old section. I used to stay here regularly and never will again.

Our overall impressions

The toilet bowl needs to increase water level in the room. The elevator doesn't come even with some of the floors. With the cart it was difficult. The timer need to be lengthened. The room was nice. Different kind of decor then we are used to. Convenient location.The soap dispenser needs to be closer to the sink.We were not aware that some of the amenities were not available as advertised. Upon checking out. I was not asked if I wanted a receipt for our stay. The person behind the desk did not thank us for our stay nor did he wish us well upon leaving. Perhaps he could use some hospitality training.

Enjoyed my stay here. Hotel is clean, beds were very comfortable and staff are friendly and accommodating. Also enjoyed the outside pool during the hot days.The roads in Montreal are not great so be careful when driving.
