This is a gem of a hotel, staff are so attentive and friendly, room was comfy and cosy. The food is up there with any top notch restaurant, especially if you like seafood! Great selection of beers, gins, whisky, wine as well. All in all a perfect 10 out of 10!

The hotel is an old inn in Johnshaven, a fishing village at least 10 miles outside of Montrose, in Aberdeenshire not Angus. Lovely setting near the harbour. The family room had a double bed and two single beds in a separate section. Shower room was small but well maintained. A small heater kept the room warm which was good because the weather was terrible on the first day. The bar/ dining area was lovely, the staff were all super and the food was excellent. Seafood was a speciality although there was a wide choice of dishes. People obviously came from all round to eat there and there was a lively atmosphere. We would certainly go back.
