This was an absolutely lovely property. The photos on the site don't do the property justice. Everyone who stayed enjoyed having such a lovely place to relax after each day of non stop theater. Everyone loved just how close it is to the heart of Mt. Vernon. Would book again if the need arises.

I really appreciated all attention detail that went into this property. At the entrance, there is an umbrella and an ice scraper. When I arrived, it was pouring down rain. The umbrella came in handy! I’ve never seen a kitchen so well stocked. The fire pit and the back patio created the perfect atmosphere for grilling and enjoying a quiet evening. To add to the tranquility, a doe and her fawn graced us with their presence. Just a short walk or drive from the property is the Kokosing Trail. The property is perfectly positioned to take advantage of this rails to trails park. Both young and old will enjoy walking or biking along this path. It’s only a five minute drive from downtown Mt. Vernon where there are many great restaurants and cute shops like Woolson’s. This property checks all the boxes for folks traveling with kids, couples looking for a weekend away from a big city, or a girls’ trip.

Amazing house for a weekend away

This beautiful house has been lovingly remodeled and appointed with cozy bedding and accessories. Our girls weekend away was made extra relaxing by this welcoming house. Huge kitchen, soft beds, quiet neighborhood with llamas next door! Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. Highly recommend.

Rarely do I stay at a place where the property is better in person. Grey Goose Cottage did not disappoint. Very clean, very comfortable and very spacious. Extra touches like a stocked coffee bar, board games, high end appliances and wireless chargers on all nightstands just added to the quality of our stay. The llamas next door were a plus!

Fabulous Stay!

We were in town for my son's wedding. We couldn't have had a better place to stay, my husband, my parents, my son and daughter. Everything we needed was at the home and very well thought out! Our Mt. Vernon visit

All 5 of us were very impressed with the cleanliness, and size of the property. It was wonderful to relax by the firepit after a long day of driving. In our 3 day visit it was a great place to stay. Towels were soft and thick. The washer and dryer were a great bonus. The dining table was terrific for playing cards in the evening. The only suggestions we would make are to seal around the front door a bit better as it lets in a lot of light at night therefore it likely lets in a bit of cold in the winter. Also, the addition of a railing around the back patio would be nice for older folks (some of us) to hold while stepping up or down.

When I tell you this place is EXQUISITE, it’s NOT an exaggeration!! It it the second BEST vrbo that we’ve EVER stayed in, and we are WORLD TRAVELERS! The first was a vrbo in Italy last May. Cozy Gathering Place

We were spending the holidays visiting family, and as multiple folks were coming to town, we decided to rent a house to share. So many delightful details: hot chocolate bar, many toys and trucks for our 3 year old, open kitchen for all to help make meals. Everything was decorated instagrammably and (being away from home) it was so cozy to have such a warm Christmas nook to connect with family and share time. We are so grateful to have found you! We wish there had been a recycling option. We took our recycling to the drop-off in town (as my partner is a Mt Vernon expatriot and knows what to do) but we thought that was unusual to not have that available at the house. Christmas Girls Trip

Another spectacular stay at the Gray Goose Cabin! We ate, drank, and were very merry in the best of locations. This cottage was the perfect place to decompress before the busy holiday season for three lifetime friends. The home was spotless and the holiday decor was beautiful. We especially appreciated the hot chocolate bar and the impeccably stocked kitchen was perfect for preparing girl dinner and a batch of cookies. The host was even kind enough to leave us extra cookie sheets. We will be back!

Kenyon College Weekend Visit

Our daughter will be attending Kenyon as a freshman beginning next fall and this is the perfect place to stay. The cottage is amazingly well-maintained. Everything is first-class. Two Tired Moms

This cottage provided the perfect location for a night off for two tired moms. I’ve rented several properties in VRBO over the years and this was, by far, the cleanest, best outfitted property I’ve ever stayed in. From the exquisite kitchen that was fully outfitted for any type of meal, to the excellent entertainment set up that allowed us to stream movies and music with no issue, to all the conveniences like coffee, snacks, toiletries, and wireless chargers in each bedroom, this place is impeccable. The communication with the renter was professional and informative. The cottage was exactly as pictured, if anything, the photos don’t do it justice. This was a slice of heaven. We did not use the outside facilities but it all appeared well cared for. We are already making plans to return. Thank you so much for providing us with a beautiful, much needed, night away.
