The Mercure Hotel München Altstadt was within a few minutes walk of all of the Old Town main attractions (Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt, shopping, restaurants, etc.). Not only is it convenient, the area felt very safe. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was fantastic. I would definitely stay here again (it is a much better location for the average tourist than staying in the city center). Thank you!

The hotel is very nice and well kept, located in the old city of Munich. It is a short walk to Marianplatz, the market, shopping,and Hofbrau. The staff are attentive and pleasant. Breakfast had good variety and invited fresh squeezed orange juice and honey in the comb. Highly recommended!

Beautiful hotel with clean rooms, convenient amenities (hot water appliance), free drinks (seltzer water, beer, apple juice) in fridge and delicious breakfast with plentiful options (eggs, sausage/meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, juices, fruit/vegetables). Conveniently located near attractions all within walking distance and near metro stop. We took Lufthansa Express Bus from airport (12 euros one way) which dropped us off at city center, then walked 150-15 minutes to hotel. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds in clean/modern room.

Really enjoyed this hotel! They were generous with the amenities and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was also in the Old Town area, and some of the tourist sites were a short walk away. I recommend it highly!

Overall great place to stay if you can get past the sleeping accommodations. The bed is extremely firm and the pillows are not for me they were extremely flat and the pillow cases would not stay on them. The breakfast was very good and the staff was excellent in the breakfast dining area.

Excellent stay on a short visit to Munich

A small but exceptionally clean room with good air conditioning. A very short stroll to Marienplatz yet in a quiet street so slept well. Large, comfortable bed. Staff were friendly and allowed us to store our luggage on the final day. The breakfast really was wonderful with so much choice and good quality food. A selection of cooked, continental or pastries with delicious fresh bread and preserves. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone on a short break to Munich as you are so close to the centre yet able to escape the noise and bustle.

Clean Quiet Convenient

Clean, comfortable, friendly, smaller rooms but looked newly renovated. On a quiet stree just a short stroll to Old Town Square. I would stay again. Breakfast was also good.

My son and I enjoyed our stay very much at the Mercure Hotel. The breakfast options were fantastic. The rooms were very clean. Staff was very friendly. There were complimentary drink options available to us each day in the room. Very convenient to the train and all the Marienplatz attractions.
