Review of 804

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed the property. The only complaint was the master bedroom was too warm for comfort. In all honestly the entire condo could have been cooler. We go on vacation in hopes of staying as cool as we want to be comfortable. I called and ask for a fan for the master bedroom. I have not had this issue in the past when staying with GCR. I would not rent this Horizon East 804 for this reason in the future.

Back to the beach!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Due to such late planning I called the office vice booking online. Susan was great to work with and sought out two properties that met my needs for a broken week schedule that wasn’t the traditional Sat to Sat model. Without her help we would have moved on to another beach up the coast and not have experienced Garden City Beach and it’s unique family beach feeling. Loved the proximity to the Garden City Pier. Live band every night was great. Only negative was the parking allowed for only one vehicle on sight. However the free overflow parking met our need, It was located about 2 miles away. The unit we stayed in could have used a handyman to fix the minor issues we encountered. Note: I didn’t report any problems as the issues didn’t change my experience and weren’t major concerns. Things such as loose and broken floor trim. But overall the place was cozy, cool and clean. We would stay in it again and would recommend to our friends and all others. Thanks for a great get a way experience.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We just returned from our seven night stay at Horizon East 804. Unfortunately, Tropical Storm Debby resulted in rain every day of our stay. We enjoyed area restaurants, but had little time on the beach due to rain and high winds. We were extremely disappointed with this condo. When we first arrived, the odor of marijuana in the lobby was overwhelming. The lounge was closed, so apparently this odor was coming from the pool deck area. Unit 804 should not be on the rental program. It was filthy. The carpet was dirty and stained. The living room furniture was filthy as well. We placed the extra bed pillows on the chairs and sat on them. The master bath had a terrible odor that seemed to be coming from the floor. The master bath shower was barely operational. The hall bath toilet would not flush most of the time. The hall bath shower would not drain well. There was ankle deep water at the end of a shower. During the heavy rain, water was running down the wall in the master bedroom. The carpet was wet from the rain running down the wall in four streams, one behind the picture behind the bed and the other three streams to the left of the picture. The elevators were turned off for two full days. My husband and I have physical limitations that made climbing stairs up to the eighth floor difficult. We called the office of Garden City Realty and spoke with Pam about this. She said she would call us back, but she never did. The worst part was that my daughter was bitten every night by bugs of some sort in the front bedroom. She ended up with 37 bites. I have pictures. We stripped the bed and changed the sheets. I don’t know if it was bed bugs or fleas. My husband and I slept in the king bed. He had 9 bites before we left. This unit needs an entire remodel. It was beyond filthy. I pray we didn’t bring home bedbugs in our luggage. We had looked forward to this vacation. I know the realty company cannot control the weather, but this condo is unacceptable. It should n

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First of all, we really liked the unit. We have booked it for 3 months next winter. Found it very clean. We had a few minor problems, but maintenance staff were right there and problem solved. The owner should consider replacing the sofa and 2 recliner chairs, as they are worn out. They are very uncomfortable to sit on. We added cushions in order to sit on them comfortably. The toilet in the main bathroom is cracked and doesn't flush well.The shower in the ensuite needs repairing. Again we really like the unit. Our agent, Bob Biron really helped us alot. We thank him. See you next Jan.

This unit was disappointing, it needs a major cleaning and upgrades. The master bedroom has black mold along the baseboard and ceiling above the bed and has a musty smell. Didn’t put any clothes in the dresser drawers because they had a smell also.The carpet in both bedrooms needs to be taken out. It looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in over ten years. The spare bathroom light fixture does not work (we even tried replacing light bulbs) only one works. Outlet cannot hold your plug keeps falling out. Front door looks like it was busted into at some point. We had a major rain storm with strong winds and the rain was literally coming through the bottom corner where the tiles are coming up. Kitchen floor tiles are separating and baseboards are missing. Couch and recliners are filthy dirty. The screens on patio doors are ripped and has duct tape. Screen is missing on master bedroom window. The unit has great views but pictures on line of this unit are deceiving. Met a couple of owners in the building who are really pleased with the building. Overall we love this area will definitely be back just not with this unit.
