Upon entering the unit, we immediately noticed it did not match the listing photos, which appear to be significantly outdated. Blue Fish Rentals is not local, and check-in communication was delayed and confusing; many messages appeared automated and did not address our questions. After arriving at 4pm sharp, we waited approximately 20 minutes in the parking lot before receiving the access code. Once inside, the unit was clearly outdated and unsanitary, including stained furniture, a broken stove door and drawer, a stained curtain covering exposed pipes, a dirty coffee pot, and a strong odor in the bathroom. Additionally, the key card for resort amenities and the parking garage did not work. The front desk attendant was unable to assist, stating it was an “owner’s unit” and not their responsibility. When we contacted Blue Fish Rentals, we received only an automated message asking whether we had checked in and were enjoying our “5 star stay.” After we reported the condition of the unit and indicated we were considering leaving, they requested photos, which we provided. They offered to send cleaners; however, we declined because we chose to check out and book alternative accommodations. No amount of cleaning would have resolved the issues we found in that unit. We were reminded several times the unit was not refundable and we did not receive any type of compensation or refund for our negative experience.
