It is walking distance to several bars and restaurants as well as the Opryland Hotel if you want to tour that. It is also an easy drive to the nearby mall where Madame Tussaud's wax museum and many other activities are located (one could argue that it is also a walkable distance, but it was over 90 degrees outside when we stayed, so we didn't try.) They do have a newly redone outdoor swimming pool. We did not use it. There is no shade in the pool area. There is a shuttle bus that can be arranged with the front desk for only $15/day. The schedule for pickup is every hour on the hour, but they do pick up from several spots, so they were sometimes a little later. The ride is only about 15 minutes from downtown. You can take the shuttle in the morning and they will give you a wristband to be able to ride back and forth all day. There was a younger girl at the front desk that was extremely friendly and helpful. I'm sorry I didn't get her name. I would definitely stay here again!
