I stayed in July during Texas State orientation and was the ONLY person in the Inn. It was a little creepy but the place is quaint and in the best location.
Door was locked to outside when we tried to check in. We were in the Thomas House and I thought we were actually staying in the Crystal Inn pictured on website next door. Bottom floor was business. The bathtub is huge jet tub with a pull out handle to shower and the water sprayed all over the room when you used it. Being 5'4 I had a hard time climbing over the bathtub to get in and my mom had a difficult time. Told person who was texting me that they should change that to regular tub/shower combo. She gave me info on different room could book the next time in the main house on first floor so will try it. Beds were amazing!!! Best I have ever slept in hotel. Room was Cypress Suite and it was beautiful, huge with sitting area. Loved it except being upstairs for my mom to walk and jet tub experience.
The bathroom is atrocious to be so expensive. Outdated and barely functional. The shower barely put out water, and was only useable after I cleaned the showerhead myself. The sink faucets were both clogged and barely put out any water. The rooms and beds were great, but the desks and chairs were uncomfortable and old. This place needs some serious updates to continue demanding such a high price.
Very nice room and later back stay. The hotel is right in the center of a bunch of restaurants and businesses so you can walk almost next door to get food and anything you need
The place was filled with old world charm. absolutely unique. I was a bit worried about the negative reviews in terms of noise and cleanliness. The place was very clean and more importantly so very quiet and peaceful. Live music on Saturday night ended by 9 pm. We had such an excellent, restful break at Crystal river inn. We absolutely LOVED this place! Thank you for hosting us.
Lacks many amenities, such as but not limited to, elevator, microwave oven anywhere on the property or inside room, trash can, regular shower, empty space in the room is filled with multiple unnecessary chairs. We perticularly do not recommend this property for people over the age of 40.
This beautiful old home appears to have undergone a few remodels. Overall, the house and our room was wonderful. The location was greatâwalkable to restaurants, bars, shopping, and coffee shops. There were so many little things about this place that could have been easily fixed to make it a 5 star stay. Itâs a bit of a hodge podge due to remodels in different eras. Painting is a bit sloppy and left on bathroom fixtures. New windows with the stickers still on them. A window that sticks open. Low lighting and lack of mirrors. But the beauty and charm far outweighs all those little things.
Great, walkable location! Quick, responsive communication from guest services when we had questions. They were low-key and easy, but quick to offer any assistance or housekeeping if needed. The room was clean and comfortable. We would stay here again.
