This property was in a wooded area. It would be a great place to stay on retreat with a group or with friends that want to go glamping. Thereâs a pool, firepit, and a nice community area. Our room was clean and the customer service was great. Itâs not within walking distance of the beach, shopping, or restaurants so keep that in mind. We had to drive everyday.
This was a great place to stay and unwind for a couple days. Itâs off the beaten path so to speak, but close to a Lake Michigan beach and also restaurants, etc of New Buffalo. Mostly a quiet property in a very nice neighborhood; wooded with nice amenities.
The location of this hotel is ideal. Close to Michigan City, New Buffalo and a 5 min walk to the lake. The hotel offers so many things for the convenience of the guests. We stayed in Suite 11 which happens to be the only room with direct balcony access overlooking the pool which was great. We had 1 bedroom and a couch with a pull out bed. The bedroom bed was excellent however the pull out bed was sub par. Extremely uncomfortable. There was no maid service or turndown service like a normal hotel which was okay with us as our stay was short. Overall we really liked it and would stay here again but would choose a different room only because of the pull out bed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Neighborhood Hotel. It is very warm and inviting with lots of places to gather inside and out. It is also a short walk from Lake Michigan. We were able to visit Indiana Dunes and Holland, MI for the tulip festival.
This is our second trip to the Grand Beach Neighborhood. We traveled with our girls, their husbands and grandchildren and their dogs. The accommodations were perfect. The full kitchen was perfect as we brought food to prepare while we stayed. The unit was very Clean and the in unit washer and dryer came in handy with the kiddos.
We loved the Saturday breakfast was delicious and Pamela was so inviting and helpful. The evening bonfires were a fun gathering area and loved the common area hangout. We will definitely be back
Great place to stay. The property manager Pamela was very kind and helpful and was very sweet to myself and my daughter. We will definitely come back when we can utilize the pool and fire pits. Short walk to small beach great for collecting rocks.
This was a very unique hotel and we loved it. In a wooded, quiet area you had the comforts of a hotel while surrounded by nature. The game room was fun to use and our room was comfortable and clean. Close by to shopping and attractions.
Overall the place is wonderful and we enjoyed the amenities. My teenaged boys enjoyed the game room, pool at night, beach, fire pit. I loved the bed, having a kitchenette, and the coffeemaker. Much better than a typical hotel version.
Iâd caution using suite 10 for more than two people. The sleeper was what youâd expect a sleeper to be - not comfortable! The bed is amazing though. The bathroom could use more hooks for drying beachwear.
I think instructions or information in general could be either more specific (ex: how to get to the beach. A map maybe?) or more visible (ex: wifi code). Things are written with an assumption that the guest knows the area.
Also, Jonathan was so helpful in permitting us a 12pm checkout, but must not have informed housekeeping. We were interrupted twice after 11pm and had to take the time to explain each time as we were trying to get ready to leave.
The local area was fun to explore- we would definitely come back.
Clean, beautiful property. Kids friendly. Fun amenities, including a great pool and Saturday morning cereal bar. 5-minute walk to beach. Will definitely return!
Staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was as expected. My teen boys felt welcome and were given info on activities they would enjoy (pool, ping pong, fire w/ smores). Wonderful experience!
