The room was very clean. I did not use the pool or other facilities. Most of my time was visiting others in the area. The one thing I did not like was the fact that they did not supply a continental breakfast as other places do. If you wanted breakfast you had to pay extra for it!

I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in New Haven and overall had a decent experience. The staff stood out with their excellent customer service—friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. The hotel grounds were well maintained and clean, which added to a welcoming atmosphere. My room was tidy, but there were a few issues worth noting: a visible stain on the carpet and a cracked sink. While these didn’t ruin my stay, they do suggest the rooms could benefit from some updates and renovations. The bar area had very limited food options, which was a bit disappointing, especially after a long day. Despite these minor drawbacks, the hotel itself was clean and functional. If the rooms were refreshed and the bar menu expanded, this location could easily elevate the guest experience. For now, it’s a solid choice with standout service and a clean environment.

Unfortunately, my experience was extremely negative, and I do not recommend this establishment to anyone. I was accompanied by my children and my elderly mother-in-law, and upon arriving at the hotel — before the final check-in time — I found the door locked. When I used the intercom, the receptionist informed me that the hotel was fully booked and that no rooms were available. I explained that I had a confirmed and prepaid reservation, but she said there was nothing she could do. I requested that she arrange accommodation at another hotel, since I had already paid for my stay in advance. However, she told that all hotels in the area were full and that I would need to travel to a hotel about one hour away. I emphasized my situation and asked her to resolve the issue, as my family and I were extremely tired after an eight-hour trip. Only after almost an hour of waiting and much insistence did the receptionist inform me that a room had suddenly appeared in the system. This situation was completely unacceptable and caused great stress, discomfort, and insecurity for my family. I expected to receive professional service and a minimum level of respect for the customer, especially considering that the reservation was paid and confirmed in advance.

If you’re visitng from out of town or out of state, and are use to 4 star or 5 star hotels, dont bother going. Without getting into details, if you’re expecting the best, then this place is not it.

Extremely overpriced for what you get. I paid about $400 per night after taxes, and it was not worth it. Check-in staff were unfriendly and unprofessional, making my daughter and me uncomfortable. While the bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean, the carpet was sticky and gross. Both nights were filled with noise (barking dog, loud guests, and constant highway traffic) making sleep very difficult. For this price point, I expected much better. I will not stay here again.
