My wife and I had a great pre-Thanksgiving getaway at this cozy cabin above New Market. It was a very quiet, private stay in a very well-stocked home with all the cooking gear you need, a Keurig, a smart TV, a great hot tub, a fire table, a new propane grill, and cozy beds. Donât hesitate to book if youâre looking for a peaceful retreat!
Everything was perfect⊠the place was immaculate, tastefully decorated, and very welcoming. We enjoyed the hot tub twice and could tell it was very clean. The fire table outside was so romantic watching the autumn leaves fall. Thoughtful touches such as slippers, snacks, and a bottle of wine made us feel right at home. We would be thrilled to stay again in the future. The host was so responsive and helpful!
The home is beautiful! Very clean and made us feel right at home. We didnât use the kitchen but very well stocked. Loved the fact that yaâll have thought of everything and we didnât have to run out and get extras. Highly recommend!!
Cabin and hot tub were very clean. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and looking at the trees. We could see an eagleâs nest off in the distance. Ilana was easy to communicate with and responded quickly.
This home was wonderful for a girls getaway! It had everything we needed and the location was perfect. Everything was clean and fresh. Ilana is responsive and helpful. Definitely would stay her again!
Perfect get away to find peace and recharge. Spent four nights at Lakota to escape the DC hustle and left refreshed. Bed was very comfortable as was the couch and outside furniture. Kitchen is well equipped. The cabin sits back from the main road and is obscured by trees from the road behind so plenty of privacy and quiet. The recently graded and smoothed access road is gravel which wasn't an issue with our SUV and we saw plenty of non-SUV vehicles going up and down (early September). Communication with the hosts was excellent. The town of New Market is about ten minutes to the west and offers a few things to do, a small general store, and several places to eath. Luray is 20 minutes to the east and has much more. Harrisonburg is 30 minutes south and has (almost) everything.
Great communication with Ilana and Mike in responding to any questions we had! Very quiet location nestled in the woods. Clean. Enjoyed the hot tub and fire table. It is a good 20 minute drive to the NP and to restaurants outside of New Market but we chose Lakota Cabin given it is centrally located in the valley and we were visiting primarily for the hiking at NP. For dinner we recommend The Chop House in Luray and Camino Real in New Market. Breakfast at Jacksonâs Corner in New Market and The Magpie in Harrisonburg are both great choices. For wineries recommend Cross Keys for the wine, views and food.
What a wonderful weekend it was! The cabin was just beautiful and relaxing and the owners thought of everything, including slippers, towels for the hot tub and even make up remover wipes not to mention remembering our anniversary with champagne and a happy anniversary card to start off our anniversary weekend. Would definitely stay again! Thank you!!
Lakota Cabin is the perfect little get away! Everything was just as described, plus a few extras to make us feel welcome. Itâs beautiful, comfortable, very clean, and has a well stocked kitchen. We hope to return soon!
