The room was in good condition and the staff was courteous, however, our last night (Feb 2nd) my friends, my husband and I were stuck in the lobby of the hotel due to a power outage in the building which affected use of the elevators. We sat there in the cold with blankets while the electric company checked and said there was no issue from the electric company providing power to the building but there was an issue with the circuitry within the building. We were finally told the electrician to the building would have to fix the issue. We climbed 7 flights of stairs to get to our room (701). This was inconvenient and painful as I have a leg injury. This put a damper on the last day of our trip. This is an older hotel however it is well kept. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the electricity during our stay. This may be partly due to the weather. The power was restored.

We had an explosion in the building and power was off except in the lobby. We had just arrived back from our day out. So we walked up a pitch black stairwell on the north side of the building to grab our charger. We attempted to return from the south stairwell which is just outside our door. It was cluttered with furniture, wood and various items. In the dark it was difficult to navigate. We got to the main floor to discover a locked door. We had to go back up the dark staircase and locate the other stairs. The woman at the desk was dismissive at best. All I can say is that the rooms are functional

This hotel has the potential to be much better if only management paid more attention to housekeeping. My room was clean enough, but it could have been cleaner. An open shampoo tube from the last guest was left out by the basin. The toilet wasn't entirely clean. The window of my room had some exterior adhesive on it which made it impossible to see the outside. Lastly, the way they stuffed pillows, requiring guests to extend them and fluff them out... well, that's just odd and perplexing.

After reading so many recent negative reviews, I prepared for the worst. I was pleasantly surprised. The front desk employee was efficient and kind. My room looked good. I checked it thoroughly before dropping off my bags. It was clean enough. Especially the bed. Everything was in good order. The hotel was quiet. I slept well. The only negative was the water pressure in the shower. It was one of the weakest showers I have ever had. But, if you stand under it long enough, everything rinses off. The bathroom floor could’ve looked a little cleaner, but sometimes that is the nature of travertine. It looks dirty even when it’s clean. I would stay there again for the value. It’s also very well located.
