This place is a DUMP!

This place is a DUMP! You have to go through the garage to check in. The front lobby is about the size of a matchbox. The internet says there is a refrigerator in the room….no refrigerator. It also says the room has a balcony…..no balcony. There is a set of double doors in the room that probably used to go out to a balcony, but there is now an iron bar across the double doors, and it’s screwed shut! And before I stayed at the Hotel Dauphine, I had never seen decorations put up with duct tape. My suggestion: DON’T STAY HERE!

For being close to Bourbon Street, the hotel was quiet and clean. The staff was friendly, valet parking price is fair and I had no worries about my vehicle. The bed and pillows were comfortable, I wish they had a mini fridge but overall the stay was perfect.

The hotel Manager Jessica was very helpful. The valet parking attendant Richard was amazing. He provided too tier service. My room didn’t have a microwave which would be my only problem. Otherwise staff was amazing all of them super friendly and helpful.

First room we were put in was clearly not cleaned. There was hair and eyelashes in the bed, a Burger King bag on the bed, and mustard stain on the bed, and a French fry on the floor. The bed looked like it had been laid on. They put us in a second room. The second room toilet got stuck on flush and the water would not stop rushing through. Also the door jammed, we had to put our body weight into it to open it and when we tried to go out, we thought we were stuck in there because it was so hard to open. They then put us in a third room. Only complaint about that room was that the thermostat and air clearly did not work. It was set in 60 and we were sweating in there. The staff was really great and understanding and never hesitated to move us, the property clearly needs work and the cleaning crew needs some training.

Nicely located in the midst of all the French Quarter action, but quiet at night. The front desk staff were lovely, both day and night. The elevator and hallways were hot, stuffy, and uncomfortable. Thankfully one doesn't have to be there long. I booked 2 rooms of the same type but the amenities weren't the same. 1 had a fridge, 1 didn't, and that was inconvenient especially when you want a nice cold beverage after walking around in the heat. Overall, I would stay here again, but it could use some sprucing up and maintenance. My door was difficult to open and my shower drain was extremely slow - something housekeeping could have easily noticed when they cleaned the tub before my arrival and could have been addressed ahead of time. I did mention it on checkout. Last but not least, having housekeeping bang on your door loudly at 9am when checkout isn't until NOON is a horrible practice! There was no DND door sign in one of the rooms, so they got a rude awakening.
