We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel New York for the second time. Two years ago, everything was perfect from A to Z, so we were excited to return.
Unfortunately, the hotel has lost much of its quality. Upon arrival, no one helped with our luggage - not a big deal, but it set the tone for our stay. During our one-week visit, bed linens were never changed, and towels were rarely replaced; some used ones were simply folded and put back. Housekeeping was inconsistent: at first, they only cleaned when requested, then suddenly knocked early in the morning while we were still asleep. Twice, they forgot to refill coffee capsules.
Breakfast was another disappointment. We decided to try it once and were shocked — $85 for two people, and with tip $100, for scrambled eggs and cappuccinos! Even at Times Square, we paid less for dinner!
At checkout, chaos continued: long lines, poor organization, and guests not taken in order.
Overall, we were very disappointed. Compared to our first stay, the quality has dropped significantly, and the high price is no longer justified. A real shame, as this used to be one of our favorite hotels in New York.
