The stay was weird. I checked as normal- Then the desk called 3 times to ask: 1st call: I was Checking to see if this is the room I assigned You. 2nd call: how many beds are in your room. 3rd call: do you want to stay in this room. These three calls came within the first 5 minutes of walking into the room.
Next day- I get A knock at the door from a man w a clip board. He says: I wanted To see if someone was in this room. Weird.. I say ‘ yep someone is in here’. Then the desk calls and says - VERY RUDELY- ‘you need to come down stairs a verify your ID to be in that room’ I asked ‘Why’ and she said ‘that room has no assigned to a guest’
I went Down with my key holder and showed them my reservation email and assigned from the desk key card paper.
I was Dismissed with a “thank you”
Then the winter storm hit NYC. I left A day early to miss the snow, when I went Down at 330 am to check out early- the desk clerk was so sound asleep I could Not wake her- I left A note saying I am Checking out early for the storm. They are not replying to my requests to be credited for the day.
Also- the elevators are not room key activated and I did See, at my 3am departure, some questionable guys getting into the evevator as I got Off. The desk clerk was OUT COLD- so she didn’t see them!
The room was fine, clean, quiet.. breakfast was fair enough.
