Staff support was lacking. I tried calling the hotel 7 times at various points in a 3 hour span before arrival, no one picked up. Then when we got there, the front desk was unsure about amenities and were not that welcoming, not what I expect from a 5 star hotel. The room was nice and spacious, but our lights kept flickering or shutting off. The fire alarm started beeping at 7 am one day as well, disturbing our baby. When checking out, there was no one available to help us and the worker at the front just watched my husband load luggage in the car, did not help at all. For reference, we are very familiar with 5 star service, have stayed at some of the best hotels in the world including Four Seasons, various Ritz Carltons, Dorchester group hotels, jumeirah group hotels, mandarin oriental. Despite being a beautiful historic building, this hotel lacked and felt more like a 3 star hotel.

We couldn’t check in until 5:30 due to previous guest getting a late check out, which was kind of a bummer. When we got to our room the room service tray was sitting outside our room and remained there all night, so that was gross. There was confetti on the floor in our room from who knows when. But the staff was courteous and kind. And the location was great. We will definitely book again with this hotel.

We had an outstanding stay at this Financial District hotel. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of everything, with easy access to transit, great dining, and some of the best sights in the city, yet still calm and comfortable when it’s time to unwind. The staff truly made the experience exceptional. Everyone we encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, going out of their way to make us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The on-site restaurant and bar deserve special praise. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was lively yet refined, and it was the perfect spot to start the evening or wind down after a full day in the city. This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way, and it quickly became a highlight of our trip. We can’t wait to come back and stay here again on our next visit to New York.

The staff here does not provide attentive and personal service at all. They don’t go out of their way to be helpful, friendly and service oriented. This is the experience from arrival to departure. The first impression was that there is no one opening the door for guests when you arrive with heavy luggage’s. This is the same when you depart.

The Beekman is such a special place for us- it’s where my wife and I first met in person and where we stayed when we got married. Every stay feels memorable, but George consistently goes above and beyond to make our visits extraordinary. This time, he surprised us with treats and even placed a framed photo of us in our room. It was one of the most touching gestures we’ve ever experienced at a hotel. The Beekman is truly a magical place on its own, but George brings an extra layer of warmth and magic that keeps us coming back.

I felt the hotel held us warmly in a safe cocoon. Service everywhere was stellar, room was beautiful, hotel architecture was incredible, Le Gratin was amazing, Temple Place had the best Egg Benedict. We will return soon!

The room had really bizarre light switches - trying to be unusual, I guess, but ended up just being irritating. Everything about this hotel was WAY more complicated than necessary, except the food, which was great.
