I stayed here while attending an event in New York because I was told the cost would be much cheaper than elsewhere. However, I quickly found out that wasnât the case, and it ultimately wasnât worth the time or effort. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, I encountered problems.
Upon check-in, Iâd been in my room for just a few hours when the owner knocked on my door. I extended my hand for a handshake, but he ignored it. I could see he was visibly upset, apparently due to a negative review someone had left about his property. Instead of approaching me calmly with questions, he was angry and ready to ask me to leave without verifying if I was the one who had written the review. Iâd barely been there long enough to leave any review.
The buildingâs stairway was very dirty, though the room itself was relatively clean. However, amenities were lackingâthere were only two dry towels provided, with no washcloths, and the bed, while decent, could have used a better cover. The temperature in the house was also uncomfortably cold, though the owner eventually provided me with a small space heater.
The living room was unfurnished, so if youâre considering this place for a group stay, itâs really not ideal. Itâs fine if youâre traveling alone and donât mind sparse amenities or care much about appearance, but otherwise, I wouldnât recommend it. In the end, it just wasnât worth the hassle.
