We stayed in a double room facing St James Park stadium. The noise from the stack bar/nightclub was very disruptive from around 7.30 into the late night. Unfortunately we could not move to the other side of the building which I understand is quieter. If you’re booking I recommend asking for a room that side if you need to sleep. Black mould in bathroom needs to be attended to also in room 505

Hotel location was spot on for shopping, bars restaurants etc. staff were very pleasant. Room was a little on the snug side (not a big deal) my biggest complaint was the shower. The water was only luke warm (which will be the reason I won’t be returning ) Also the room was quite cold. Noise from road was to be expected being based beside a main road.

Hotel very tired and lift still not working four weeks on from last stay. I had to wait 15 minutes for lift to get to breakfast. USB charge points in the room also not working which left me with a flat battery on phone. Not as good as other hotels in Sandman estate and needs attention.

Booked an aparthotel, with a washing machine, because I knew I would be wanting to do washing after we had been travelling. The room was up the lift then through a door and down a staircase (so in between floors on the side). We had 2 very large suitcases and carry on, so it was annoying having to lug them down a staircase. It was even more annoying that I unpacked everything, got all our dirty clothes and went to use the washing machine and it didn't work. After advising reception, who spoke to maintenance - who advised they were waiting on a part for that machine. They moved me to another room, so I had to repack everything and lug the suitcases down another 2 flights of stairs. To be fair, the receptionist, found me a room straight away, and did ask if I wanted help to pack up and move, but I declined. The room was ok - there was only a heater in the bedroom, so I found it a little cool in the lounge area. On the upside, I did leave my iPad in the room after I left, and contacted the hotel, who advised that they had found it. I ordered Royal mail to pick it up and the hotel packaged it up for me. The bed was also comfortable. The hotel was central, so it was a convenient place to stay.

We were given Room 204 near the lifts. Upon entry we discovered that we had been given a room with an assisted bathroom. There was an assisted shower, part of which was in the process of collapse. The sink was too small and we couldn't fill the kettle because the spout hit the tap every time. Other than that the bed was fine. I would have taken it further had we stayed two nights instead.
