We had a destination Christmas with our adult daughters, their partners, and our baby granddaughter. It was a fabulous holiday and it snowed while we were here making it a beautiful snowscape. The home was comfortable and just as described with three kind beds and there was plenty of space for others if we had needed it. The game room was lots of fun too. The managers were wonderful helping us out when we first checked in and answering out question.
Property was excellent. Beds were top quality and kitchen was well stocked. Bathrooms, bedrooms, and house were very clean. Would gladly stay here again and would recommend this property to anyone I know.
Only issue to note and be aware of is the inside fireplace has a very poor draft and the glass doors must be closed to avoid extreme smoke in the house. The doors, which need to have the glass cleaned badly, can only be opened when a healthy bed of embers are present to create a strong upward draft. Outside chimney is simply too short and well below the high point of the house roof.
This is the perfect ski house. This was our 2nd stay at Bear Ridge and it did not disappoint. The house had everything we needed and was very cleannand well maintained. It was perfect for our two families (4 adults, 5 kids). All the kids could stay together in the bunk room, and the basement downstairs with ping pong and games kept them busy for hours! Perfect proximity to the mountain as well - about a 3min drive. Thank you again for a great stay!
Had an awesome stay at this house - we were a group of 8 adult couples (30+). We stayed at the house for a ski weekend at Sunday River over NYE. The house is thoughtfully stocked and designed for a ski trip. Open concept kitchen/living room, 5 min drive to the slopes, large hot tub, dining table and couch, games and fireplace ... perfect! Would definitely stay again.
There is plenty of room for a large family group: three levels of living space with stunning views, or step onto the deck or patio to commune with the Maine outdoors. Our adult daughter particularly appreciated the second master on the ground floor; our sons loved the full-size bunks upstairs.
This chalet manages to feel both spacious and cozy at the same time. The laundry facilities are first-rate. Yes, the pots and pans are a bit limited, but the kitchen appliances are great. Details like wide-panel cherry flooring and radiant heat add comfort. There's ample parking, with a 14-50 outlet for EV charging.
We look forward to our next visit.
This property was amazing! If youâre considering this property I would highly recommend you stay as it was a great value. I stayed with my parents and sister and girlfriend. We felt like we had an amazing space that was so inviting and allowed us to spend time together and make great mementoes but also space for privacy when we wanted it. Indeed, great memories were made at a fantastic location.
Great place to stay with a group of friends or with a big family! We were a group of four couples. Very convenient to Sunday River for skiing (7 min drive) and a beautiful view of the slopes. Our stay coincided with the resort's fireworks night on Saturday and we had a prime view from the deck. The beds were very comfortable and we all appreciated the separate set of towels to use after going in the hot tub. The pots and pans in the kitchen definitely need an upgrade and another full set of dishwasher-safe bowls and plates could come in handy. Overall, all of us had a great time!
We had such a lovely time staying here on a recent family ski trip. The house was beautiful and so comfortable for our family and small children. We canât wait to book our stay for next year!
Went to Sunday River for our annual ski trip. Best house we have stayed at yet. Views were beautiful, very comfortable and well stocked. We highly recommend
We had a wonderful stay. The house is nicer than what the pics show
We were a group of 10. 6 adults and 4 children. Plenty of space for everyone to roam around. Excellent location for Sunday River skiing. The game room and the sled were a hit with the kids.
We had a great time at this spacious and well stocked home in the mountains. The view of the Sunday River ski trails and mountains from the main room was just breathtaking. Lots of space to relax and lounge around after skiing. We loved gathering around a warm fireplace with stunning views. The ping pong and hot tub were a family favorite. We definitely hope to return!
We stayed here for an early season ski trip with our two kids. First, my youngest loved all of the bear decor! The view of the mountains was wonderful, and the house is so spacious! Beds were comfy, house was easy to make ourselves at home in, and five minutes to the resort. Would definitely stay again!
My family including our four children and another family with two children stayed at Bear Ridge over Labor Day Weekend. The home was spacious, we all had room to spread out. The game room was a favorite among both children and adults. The hosts were beyond accommodating and the home had everything we needed. We would recommend this home to anyone staying in the Sunday River area.
Lovely house. Very clean - even grandma found no dust. Sunlight = amazing. Plenty of space for everyone to gather or be alone.
Well-provisioned kitchen. Dining table befit a large tribe. Has everything: hot tub already warm, sparkling grill, cornhole. Ping pong and foosball tournaments.
We had a few issues come up - hot water, beeping alarm - and owner addressed them straightaway. We hope to return.
From the layout of the house, the proximity to the mountain, the cleanliness, the comfortable beds, and amenities (basement bonus room with ping pong, outside hot tub etc), this was the perfect house for our two families. Will absolutely rent again!
Great house with nice layout for families. Two masters make it easy for the parents and the bunk room is a hit with the kids - beautiful views of Sunday river too. A quick drive to the mountain makes it easy to start the day and pop home when you need a break. Would happily rent again
Believe it or not we didnât come here to go skiing, but the kids ended up doing some skiing. We like to head up to the mountains each holiday season and this property did not disappoint with plenty of room for all the kids
My family stayed here for the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed all that this house had to offer. It was exactly what we were looking for and accommodated all of our needs from extra towels and linens to the heater in the master bath. My only comments would be how horribly thin the ceiling is between the main floor and top floor. Anytime someone goes to even sit in bed you can hear a creek. But you can barely hear it if you are the top floor. So if you are in the master bedroom I highly suggest bringing a loud fan to avoid constant creeks of people the shuffling in bed. In the 5 bed-bedroom. The air conditioner still being in there saved my life but I'm sure its coming out soon. Also if your in the hottub or the private porch don't look up, the many breeds and generations of spiders own the house. The lack of hot water was ultimately the biggest disappointment of the weekend. I drew a bath for myself in the jacuzzi tub. Waited for it to fill up about 1/3 of the way. Went back in and it was running straight cold after that little bit. No showers or baths had been taken yet. From then on we staggered our showers through the weekend because even towards the end of a single shower it would be cold. We all loved the experience and just being together in this beautiful house but I can only imagine how a hot shower would feel after a day of skiing and to not recieve that.
Had a really fun time at this property. The house was just as described, very clean and comfortable. Our only problem was a faulty refrigerator. We called Kirk for assistance and he brought us a new fridge and coolers of ice to hold us over right away. It was great to know the host was there for us! We've rented several VRBO properties and this was one of our favorites. Recommended!
