The Inn has great food and drink options and the bar staff was friendly. The room was very hot and the skylight did not open, nor could you see out of it. The room and bathroom were very clean. I appreciated an in- room TV with channels that night as well.
I am 6'6" and currently have limited mobility following an operation. Stairs were a slight problem and i got room 3 which as someone else mentioned had sloping ceilings in parts but there were numerous 'mind your head' signs. Room was compact and clean with two single beds. Limited parking - i ended up being told to park on part of the pavement outside the inn.
Owner was very helpful but seemed to be pretty stressed with everything he had to do. Bar and restaurant staff were very attentive and welcoming. Food very good.
No breakfast
Would i go back - probably not with my current mobility problems but i would recommend to any others
I would hardly describe the room as "a superior twin room". It was a very small room with twin beds and was very stuffy. I was unable to open the window. We asked about breakfast, but were advised that this was unavailable on a Sunday. I paid online and was emailed and asked to check in online. A few days after our stay someone telephoned me to ask whether I had paid or not! Fortunately, I was able to check my credit card statement and confirm that payment had been made.
Really enjoyed our stay. Accommodation was comfortable. Rooms were clean and warm. Staff were lovely and so helpful. We had a baby with us and Derek, the owner, kindly gave us another room as there was not a lot of space in the room to accomodate our portable cot. The food in the pub was really good too. Didnât have the breakfast as we were visiting family but we enjoyed the evening meals there. Would highly recommend.
Reasonable value for money; well located for my holiday plans. Room had adequate facilities but roof window didn't close fully, so room got chilly. Shaver point/ light not working. Lack of secure cycle storage overnight meant using bedroom. Menu gave restricted choice for me, not a meat eater. Macaroni cheese, the only vegetarian option, was poor. Saturday breakfast was very nice and I was well looked after by Kirsty, to whom my thanks. Whole stay was spoiled by lack of breakfast on Sunday. I wasn't told this until Saturday evening and was not offered anything such as a box of cereals. I feel I should have been made aware of this from outset - I could have made alternative arrangements.
Lovely pub friendly staff and atmosphere, ideally location for our trip to the bladnoch distillery that is located directly across from the inn.
Thanks.
Les points faibles : Personnel et service et confort de la chambre
no restaurant Mon & Tues so no dinner or breakfast available. No en suite when that was what was booked. had to leave and get alternative accommodation.
Have asked Hotels.com to get a refund - they are having difficulty getting in touch with the hotel
Trip towards ferry home back from weekend sporting activity. Very easy going, relaxed atmosphere no hassles - simple but comfortable room. Spent very pleasant few hours in bar with owner and local having great friendly chat on all manner of topics.
Very relaxing.
Great breakfast in morning to set me up for the day. Overall lovely experience and v happy to stay there again and hope too next time Iâm in Scotland
