I've given this property a 2 start rating for a few reasons but the biggest was that the listing is misleading and we had security concerns.
It is overpriced at $300. Although its a cozy little one bedroom, near to a few beaches, its overpriced for what your getting. It would be easier to overlook our concerns if the price was less inflated.
1. We were not aware that the upstairs is also rented and the two floors were seperated by a simple bedroom door with no lock or security on our side. It didn't feel private at all and someone could have walked into our rental at any time.
2. There's no electricity in the bedroom. Like none. No outlets in any of the walls and a single ceiling light.
3. The futon in the living room is metal bars, sunk at a weird angle and very uncomfortable. Do not plan to sleep on it.
4. Pool was listed as a feature but when we were arrived, the notes explained that it was off limits.
Let's start with the Vrbo. Seeing their ads on TV we were excited to book through them but this property should not have been part of the Vrbo listings. It wasn't even close to being "luxurious" as advertised. Moving on to the host Jesse with whom we met. After pointing out some of the shortcomings he simply turned his back on us and walked out the door. The minimum standards were not even met. There was no handsoap in the bathroom. 2 towels for 4 guests. When asked for extra towels, they provided us with what looked like to be their personal beach towels which were stained. There was no extra bedding which later we found out after inquiring was in a bag under the bed and was not adequate, it consisted of one sheet and an old duvet cover. The bed creaked and squeaked with any little movement. No electrical outlet in bedroom. The futon was unsleepable for 2 people. It had the biggest sag in the middle, and it was very uncomfortable. With respect to cleanliness, it was so so. Dishes were dirty no cloths to clean them, cobwebs throughout the place, even on appliances. Jesse's response was "we do live in the country after all". Sure, it is in the country, but it wouldn't take a whole lot for a cleaner to have a swiffer or a dust rag, to make sure there were no cobwebs. Patio verticle blinds were busted Concrete slab to the front door entrance was covered in chicken poop. Definitely not worth 454 for 1 night. We paid for 4 people but provisions were not adequately provided for 4.
Just as listed. However the host seems to be occupied for reading in detail what was being asked. One morning we run out of water which where not able to take a bath, wash dishes nor wash our teeth. Gratefully it was fixed when we where back in the afternoon however with a lot of sand. Overall good, comfortable beds, even though we had to ask for additional bedding since we where 4 people. During the early morning it was quite noisy but we overall slept well.
Nice property, close to where we wanted to explore.Only problem was a bad odor coming from the bathroom.Everything else was fine.Even had some eggs from the chickens on the property.
Description of luxurious and close to beach is misleading Walk down the road to the lake brings you to a barrier and a rock wall Driving to long point or turkey point beach is reasonable "Sofa bed" is actually a futon-very uncomfortable to even sit on Bed also not comfortable though can tell there was a attempt to make it better with memory foam. Internet is good TV poor reception Attentive host
