This property is RIGHT on the beach and is connected to Cherry Grove Pier. The unit we stayed in was very suitable for my husband and me and would be great for a family of 4 as it has two bedrooms. Both rooms had full-size beds in them. The mattresses in the master were both very comfortable and we slept well. We dined out for all of our meals, but the kitchen was stocked with the basics if you prefer to cook. The couch was fine for us but is dated, and has less padding than would be comfortable for my plus-sized mother-in-law who often travels with us. I cannot speak to the amenities of the resort, because we did not use them and preferred to spend our time hiking on the beach, and in local parks. A plus for disabled folks, there are 3 elevators, and I found them to be very efficient. Another important detail is that this part of the beach is very quiet- which is great. However, we prefer restaurants and activities within walking distance. These are available but require a minimum of 1/2 mile walk. With that all said, we would come back to this area, but would likely choose something further down towards N. Myrtle. If fishing, or quiet is what you like- this is a GREAT location for you!
I would not stay here if the property is managed by Vacasa. The neighboorhood/road, was constantly under repair. The employees at the Prince Resort were very accomodating and tried to make up for the inability to help with any problems in the room because it is owned by Vacasa.
This stay was a nightmare. The rental was through a 3rd party management group that was not on premises. You have to drive approx 10-15 minutes away to get the keys for the unit. Then once on the property you still have to check in to received parking passes and passes while on property ( ALL check-in processes should be done in ONE LOCATION). Especially with someone that has a disability, as myself!!!
When I arrived alone, I unloaded my car and headed up to the unit. Once I arrived at the front door, the keys did not work!!!! I was alone, freezing cold and now I am stuck with a luggage cart full and not way to call front desk. I have to call Vacasa customer service, who have to call the property management to see if they can bring replacement card keys. It took 10 minutes for someone to TEXT NOT CALL me back, then stated they had to physically go to the office, rekey the cards, then come to the property which would be 45minis to an hour and a half.
I stated that I was outside alone, in the freezing cold and could they call the front desk to see if they could rekey for them. I was told that the front desk could not handle this issue and that I had to wait for someone to come.
I took my luggage back to my car and the front desk manager asked if I needed help and what was wrong because I was in tears by this time. He called to the front desk, told his asst to give me new keys to the unit.
THANKFUL for the front desk! I NEVER heard back from VACASA again until time to check-out
The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. When I had questions, I text the property manager and they were very accommodating and answered right away. All in all we had a very good experience. We plan to stay there again.
Got our key cards late because they didn't have them in the box and you pick them up about 15 mins from the condo then have to return them to the same box. Condo desk people were fantastic. The view was amazing. Beach right there, perfect. Having the restaurant and bar & grill on site a huge plus. Rooms are all a great size. Kitchen appliances are good except microwave plate doesn't spin. Furniture not very comfortable. Should remove double beds in balcony bedroom and add either queens or a king because the queen beds are in the front bedroom. Washer and dryer work well but rusted some. Bathtub in balcony bedroom can't fully stop water from running out. Other bathroom bathtub leaks water as it's running. Kitchen sink needs replaced. Those things didn't ruin our stay but updates would certanly make it a rating of a top 10.
The area is nice, but construction everywhere makes it difficult to enjoy some features. Pier was closed for rebuilding, hot tub closed for repairs, condo needed some cleaning when we arrived and amenities were sparse.
Pros.... Great view, friendly, easy to find, very nice beach, clean, close to everything but not in the busy part, secure parking,
Cons... Long waits for elevators during the day, parking is across the street. Must laundry your own towels or you will run out fast, Pier had been shut down since last year and it was not advertised. Expensive.
Overall....I would stay here again now that I know what to expect and I could be prepared.
Our family really enjoyed our stay at Cherry Grove. We had plenty of room, nice kitchen with all the necessities, nice bedding. The beach front location was especially nice. I would recommend this unit for a family vacation.
