My husband and I had a wonderful couple of nights at Chanterelle. We stayed in a room in the main building. We loved the peacefulness of the place. It was such a relaxing place to stay. Breakfast was delicious! We booked dinner for the one evening. We were so glad we did. It was an 8 course meal. Every dish was excellent! Would recommend if youâre looking for peace and relaxation and excellent food!
Pricey and pretentious. Tiny room, well appointed, not, in flea market finds. Amenities include a quality, hand crafted soapâŠ. Literally a sliverâŠ. Literally! For hand and shower, a sliver of soap. Delicious breakfast and book way in advance for dinner.
Beautiful property but very isolated. It is right on the Cabot trail which is nice. Lovely staff. The food is incredible. Delicious breakfast and dinner was an amazing tasting menu. We had some minor issues with our room but not a huge deal. Overall a lovely place to stay if you want to be isolated.
We enjoyed our quiet, clean and nicely decorated cabin - and the amazing view to the outdoors from it. And dinner prepared at the inn by the owners was amazing!
Cozy, comfortable and welcoming Inn. A very pleasant host to greet you and explain the gourmet tasting menu and breakfast choices. Food and service is fabulousâŠand outstanding views. Nice size room and comfortable bed well appointed bathroom. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend for a quiet stay outside of town.
I felt disappointed. This hotel is about 30 minutes away from the nearest town.
When we arrived, it was dinner time & no one told us that we had to have reservation for dinner. They were sold out for dinner. We had to drive 20 minutes to go to the only restaurant that was the closest place & had to drive back at night time on a winding road to get back to the hotel. When we arrived, the place was quiet and no one around. We had to go to sleep, there isn't even a TV in the room.
This inn is right on the Cabot Trail. We stayed in one of the cottages off the main building. It was a spacious kitchenette and well equipped with everything we needed. The shower was a modern handheld model. There was a TV on the property, and we were able to watch our favourite shows on Netflix and Prime (together with many of Primeâs associated channels, including Crave!!). There was a very unique restaurant on the premises that served a nine-course tasting menu. It was a wonderful experience and, Iâm sure, a labour of love for the chef. Dinner that night was lots of fun. My husband and I highly recommend this place if you are ever on the Cabot Trail.
Superbly situated for touring Cape Breton. Very comfortable room with fast WiFi. The dinner menu is outstanding - different every evening. 4 options. Four course meat, fish, or vegetarian or 8 course combination of fish and meat. We had the meat first night and fish second night. Both delicious, imaginative, and portion sizes perfectly adequate (probably need to work up an appetite for the 8 course). The staff were very friendly and well informed about the area. Breakfast also excellent. And ingredients largely sourced locally.
