Superbly situated for touring Cape Breton. Very comfortable room with fast WiFi. The dinner menu is outstanding - different every evening. 4 options. Four course meat, fish, or vegetarian or 8 course combination of fish and meat. We had the meat first night and fish second night. Both delicious, imaginative, and portion sizes perfectly adequate (probably need to work up an appetite for the 8 course). The staff were very friendly and well informed about the area. Breakfast also excellent. And ingredients largely sourced locally.
It was a lovely place to just relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The rooms are comfortable and the hosts were very accommodating. And the food, what can I say but delicious!
A great place to stay while in Cape Breton. The Inn has a rustic feel and located in a great area to get away from the hustle & bustle. You can enjoy a lovely dinner and breakfast onsite or drive 10min along the river to a restaurant serving fresh caught fish & lobster or carry on further to the village of Baddeck.
This quaint Bed n Breakfast is a great place to drive the Cabot Trail - donât do it in one day if possible. The hosts were very accommodating. And loved relaxing on the porch listening to the birds and watching the hummingbirds. If mobility issues, you may need to ask for the best option for a room.
The atmosphere encourages guests to relax. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Our room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast is freshly prepared.
I recommend at least one evening making dinner reservations here as well- great end of an active day exploring.
A quaint inn w the most pleasant owners. We were unprepared for dinner as we werenât sure of our arrival. They more than took care of us and the food was delicious
Chanterelle is a unique gem in a stunning place ⊠on the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island. Earlene and Holger work diligently to provide outstanding, attentive, and responsive service to their guests. But itâs the opportunity to partake in extraordinarily fine dining for both breakfast and dinner, that really makes the time spent at Chanterelle uniquely wonderful. Treat yourself to this wonderful indulgence, and follow everyoneâs recommendation to make reservations, in advance, for your dinner(s). We loved our three night stay.
My partner and I stayed at Chanterelle for two nights in early September and we could not have been more pleased! We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts and dinner, the accommodations were clean and tidy and the setting for the Inn was gorgeous.
You have to remember, this is an Inn. Itâs not a hotel and itâs not a B&B. Room was super clean, and the breakfasts were really tasty. Dinner was not something we took part in due to our daily schedule, but because itâs an Inn, bring a guest of the Inn doesnât mean you get an automatic dinner reservation. Book your reservation for dinner when you book the reservation for occupancy.
I would recommend this place to all that are looking for a clean, quiet location and hospitable stay.
Charming hotel up a hill where you can see for miles. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and was delicious. The only negative for me was lack of an elevator to second floor rooms because I have bad knees and stairs are not my friend.
