Very safe area to do all the walking you want, enjoyed the culture and food in the small towns about 20-30 minute walk away, make sure you pack accordingly. There is no W/D. No restaurants in the immediate area (1/2 hour walk or a uber ride)
The condo is nicely decorated, good location and looks good online.
We had some issues which are considered 'minor':
- Problem getting into wifi. Online booking people told us a different wifi signon/network than what was in the condo. Signin is on the modem on the kitchen counter. They ended up costing us out of pocket expense as we had to use our data
- No extra blankets and when we inquired we were told we were allowed only the bedding provided. Had to put the beach towels on top of us to stay warm.
- Sewer smell in the bathroom - had to leave the fan on the whole time to keep the smell away
- Only 5 beach chairs for Maritima Golf guests. You can't use the other chairs at the beach as they are for Maritima Playa guests. If you sit in one security makes you move.
Major issue:
Plugged toilet which we tried to fix with the plunger but it was poor quality and would not work.
Messaged about the toilet to have a plumber come to the unit. After many messages back and forth we waited until 7 pm for a reply to find out that no one could come until the next day.
We went 21 hours with no working toilet in a one bathroom condo. Dealbreaker from our end as you should not have to get up in the night and go the lobby to use the washroom.
Addressed this issue & was told because it's not a hotel they couldn't get a plumber out. If you're renting out condos a plan need to be in place for emergencies. No compensation was offered on our rental amount either.
Will not rent here again
Good property, but needs to be managed better. Forgot to send us check in code, power went out for 36 hours as they didn't pay the power bill, laundry unit too large for space pushing unit into kitchen and blocking breaker box. Security guard was helpful sorting out errors of management company. On top of it all, this was a back up property given to us when our first rental cancelled out 1 week before our stay. VRBO was good about finding us a new place but is making the reimbursement process (for difference in cost between original property and second property) extremely difficult.
