Overall the property was 4 stars. The house is clean and stocked as described. Clean linens are provided, which is a nice benefit. There were no issues with finding the house or entry. The interior is a bit dimmer compared to the representation of the pictures. This can either be a warmer environment in the evening or a little too dark for the morning. A few more lights would be nice. However, the furnishings were clean and comfortable. There was a very light smell of animal occupancy. I own a dog, so it was not an issue. However, if you are expecting pet free, read the description. There was a small issue with the internet. My troubleshooting could not solve the problem. A few textx with the property manager had the problem fixed in a few hours. We also had an issue with some of the outlets in the living area not working. I am sure this was user error. I am sure this would have been resolved if I contacted the manager. She is very responsive and helpful. The only drawback was that the lawn looked like it had not been cut in 2 weeks. We did not spend much time in the yard or use the fire pit. Still, it would have been more appealing with a groomed yard.Overall, the property was adequate. I would stay here again.
Our family stayed at this home a few weeks back while taking some of our teenage grandkids zip lining & rafting.Overall, the home was nice & clean. (it did have an older house musty smell when you first walk in). It's in a residential neighborhood, which at night is very quiet. We were able to enjoy a night out by the firepit, listening to music and watching the stars. They also provided shampoo / conditioner /body wash in the showers which was a nice surprise The check-in / out processes were very simple & easy. Patricia maintained good communication. The home overall was clean & had everything we needed ******NOTES: Just a couple of recommendations to the owners. Spending some investment on kitchen related items would be a good & helpful idea. We literally had 5 forks and 2 coffee cups the whole time. Also changing out some of the cookie sheets might be nice as well.If you're using this as a base for exploration & adventure in this area, then I would recommend a stay here. ACE Adventures is literally a little over 2 miles away
Great location. Quite neighborhood. WIFI didnât work. Beds were very comfortable. Bring coffee mugs, there are only 2 mugs at the house. No chair cushions for outside seating on the patio. No chairs around the fire pit. Stove top is broken. AC works great.
Beautiful house that was very open and roomy. Basic household essentials like towels, soaps and seasonings were included as well. Will book this house again.
Overall excellent stay. One shortfall: certain wall outlets did not work and therefore certain lights needed to be relocated in order to get enough light into the dining/living room. We notified the manager. Plenty of space if you are looking to put up a bunch of people.
Some buddies and I planned a trip around hiking at the New River Gourge. Although the house offered a place to us to stay, the pictures in the catalog can be deceiving. Upon arrival, the living room and back pourch lights were out. Breaker must have went out, but could have been an easy fix. After discussion with the owner, we agreed that they would send someone to fix this a day later. Three more days past, and no one came to fix the lights. Asked for a discount for the inconvenience, but was denied after being told that âit is against their policy to give discounts after our date of stayâ, even though I already did my part in solving this simple problem. The house also states that it can sleep 10 people, but only has a small, 6 person dining room table, which looked a lot bigger in the photos. We often found ourselves cramped and with a lack of suitable chairs to fit around the table comfortably when eating and playing games in the dark living room.
This was a good location for us as we were in the area for Fall Gauley season. The property was as advertised and the host, Patricia, was great to work with. The notebook left for guests has good information in it. The property is pet friendly even though we did not have pets with us. Thanks for sharing your property.
I love that itâs a one level house . A bathroom in the main room and another big one with washer & dryer also. About 10 min drive to grocery store but a Walgreens is short walk or drive for small stuff . Overall the stay was comfortable and the house was clean
To start off, the information that was described was different from the messages we actually received.
-Info says check in at 4, but our message said 3
-Info said one time $50 pet fee (2 pets max), message said $75 pet fee for each pet
We arrived at 3:30 in the middle of a storm and couldnât get in as our code wasnât working. I called and they informed us check in wasnât until 4 so our code wouldnât work. I expressed the misinformation we received and she let us in.
There was a rug, semi rolled up, laying on the front porch, we assumed it was for the entry way inside and brought it in as our shoes were wet and we didnât want to mess up the floors.
The back door was unlocked when we arrived.
There was also supposed to be 2 TVâs per the listing, but there was only the one in the living room.
We did find that we had to lock the storm door as it kept blowing open, we didnât want it to break or come off the hinges.
The master bedroom had a bed that was basically on the floor, way too low for us to use, but our 40 year old son said it was great!! The beds were super comfy!!!
The overall design of the house was nice, you could tell it was an older home remodeledâŠvery pretty.
It was clean!!! They had large bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the showersâŠthat was great.
The keurig and k-cups was a wonderful added touch.
Overall, this property was nice and I would recommend it. Just be aware of the information listed versus the messages you receive prior to arriving.
Great location relative to the New River Gorge and all the fun stuff to do there. Spacious and comfortable. Minimally equipment, but had everything we needed. I would recommend staying here and would do so myself again next time.
The house was very roomy and clean. There was plenty of parking. Being able to download TV aps on the TV was a very nice convenience. Patricia, the VRBO contact, was very kind and accessible. The back porch was nicely decorated with outside lights. The Christmas tree was very nice.
We chose this property based on its proximity to the Ace Adventure Center, which is only a 10 minute drive away. The house was a perfect choice, exceptionally clean, well equipped and beautifully decorated. The host was very helpful in answering any questions we had about the property.
