Unfortunately, we had black mold throughout the ceiling of our room over July 4th weekend when we checked in. Scott the Manager admitted they had water leak on the floor above the prior week, but he didn't think it was black mold - rather he thought the cleaners didn't do a great job cleaning off the ceiling (?). We didn't want to risk it since we have family members with asthma, and we asked to be moved to another room. At first there were no other rooms due to it being July 4th weekend, but Scott eventually found us a new room.
Scott and the staff were good, but they should never have put people in that room - and at $400+ per night, we expect better.
We love the location of the hotel, the pool, and the tiki bar and restaurant are the best in the area! So we can put up with a lower-quality room for the amenities, which are perfect for us. If the mold was not there, we would give the hotel an Average/Good rating.
