My husband and I needed a last-minute getaway trip. We were only looking for a place to sleep. It was a small, quaint area by the beach. We enjoyed the walk to nearby stores and towns. The town is quiet, which was what we were looking for. Itâs relatively in a good location as it has both the small-town feel and itâs 60-90 minutes outside of Manhattan! So we were able to go there as well. Weâre from the DC metropolitan area, so weâre used to the 60-90-minute commute into the city. Please keep in mind that Melrose is not a hotel and is not a bed and breakfast. However, they do provide a microwave, coffee, and water in the lobby and a refrigerator in your room. The amenities are minimal, but if thatâs all you need, then this is a place to stay. I ran into the cleaning service person, and sheâs very welcoming! One caveat is that we came here in the winter, the last week of December. We didnât know that the room would be so dry. We didnât stay for long, so we were okay without a humidifier. Besides that, my husband wants to come backâ! Iâm not sure when because this whole trip was spontaneous from the beginning. Thanks for the hospitality!
