Ocean Vaca

The Rustic Retreat was like a mountain lodge with the waves of the gulf all around! The view of the gulf and the endless sky with the ocean wind was spectacular-with plenty of shaded area under the house. The home is decorated in a vintage eclectic style that was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, I would suggest getting very acquainted with the stovetop before attempting to cook! The host was readily available to answer all questions. We love the Gulf Coast and will be back soon!

We had an amazing time there. If you are looking for somewhere to just kick back and relax this is the place for you. We seen dolphins just about every day we were there right out in front of the house the little private beach area was great for the kids to play around on and find hermit crabs and shells.The house is just as pictured and is very cozy and the views are amazing we will most definitely be back.

What a View!!

Amazing views! The view from the deck, living room, dining are and kitchen are astounding. We saw dolphins and a variety of birds. You can walk the road and have the ocean on one side and bayou on the others. There are very few cars so its great walk. There really isn't beach walking here but itl is great. Ocean Springs has a great dog friendly beach and it is about 20 minutes away. It is easy to do a day trip to New Orleans and Mobile. There is lots to see and do in the area. The bedrooms are a bit small and the oven and stove take a bit of getting use to. Those things were minor with that view and location.

This is a lovely property nestled right on the water in a friendly neighborhood. A truly amazing story of resilience behind the property as well, having survived two catastrophic hurricanes. Can’t wait to stay at this beautiful and unique property again

Rustic property that was perfect for a few days to wind down after our daughter’s wedding in New Orleans. Property situated right on the water. 180 degree views. Unfortunately screens not working on sliding glass doors to open for fresh air. And would recommend bringing own deck chairs as there is no porch furniture. No real TV options but that wasn’t on our agenda anyway. Despite these shortcomings was a very peaceful setting to relax and unwind.

Loved it!!!

We stay at a different Vrbo every year, this one is my favorite!!! Awesome views of both sunset and sunrise. We saw dolphins and caught plenty of fish and birdwatching. It’s just what we needed after a long and stressful year.

Great vacation

This place is ideal for a laidback family. Quiet location, well-stocked, and fantastic views. The natural beach is perfect for kids to build sand castles and play. We saw TONS of wildlife. There's plenty of restaurants and shopping within distance. Perfect spot for a relaxing vacation.

Perfect view

Everything about the house was great! Especially if you like your privacy. Only bad part was the water. I get its the gulf of Mexico but it was especially muddy and shallow. If you have kids and want them to play in the water I would suggest to get a different location. But if you dont care definitely the place to go. It was absolutely amazing with the most breathtaking views.

Great private beach area

The house was exactly as expected. Easy access to the beach area. Don't plan on swimming here due to lots of debris/old piers, etc. This didn't bother us though. We were able to collect lots of shells, hermit crabs, and various other types of crabs were in abundance. We saw dolphins daily and the pelicans fly overhead frequently. Absolutely beautiful location.

This home was great! You are right on the Ocean and even though you can’t really swim in the water there is a sandy area where kids can play in the beach and get their feet in the water. Very private and property was clean.

A quiet retreat with an awesome view

The property is the perfect secludedgetaway for an outdoorsman type. Beautiful wood cabin look from the inside and it has an awesome view from anywhere on the property. Well accomodated and easy to get too.
