A group of us were running a race starting in Ohiopyle at 5:30am on Saturday morning that would end late Saturday night. We wanted a place that was large enough for the group, close to the race start (literally across the street) and within walking distance to restaurants. The place couldn't have been more perfect. We loved the hot tub, the decks overlooking the river, and being within one block from coffee, pizza, bakery, and a restaurant. We will likely stay again when we come back for additional races.
Clean, beautiful woodwork, functional, central, good communication. Paperwork is a bit over the top and water smella a bit like sulphur. Overall would highly recommend.
Stayed for the weekend to celebrate sonâs surprise proposal. Not much open in the winter, so house was ideal for hosting her family for lunch. Sonâs golden retriever stayed with us too. With no leaves on the trees, nice view of the river.
House was as advertised and a great place for our medium sized group to stay. It is literally right in the middle of a small downtown area. Unfortunately, there was only a single restaurant open during our stay (I assume due to the season and cold), but you could tell it's probably a fun environment to stay in during the summer (they have white water rafting right there, ice cream shop, pizza place, etc). We used it as a home base for skiing at Seven Springs, and loved our stay there and the available hot tub. Would love to come back!
Went for a girls hiking weekend ! House is very spacious and really loved the two level porches! We were able to walk to most of the hiking trail heads so the location is great. Would have appreciated a few more amenities such as dark & pepper and also the tub upstairs looks really really dirty but perhaps itâs just stained from use and itâs time to be replaced. The hot tub was an added bonus!
Literally in the middle of town. The deck is super nice and over looks the park and river. The upstairs loft area was super fun for the kids. The home has lots of cool details and charm. Only down side was a mouse running around the kitchen at night but that didn't cause us much bother. Definitely would stay here again
There were some bugs in the downstairs bathroom. The drain in that tub did not drain very good. The door on the half bath would'nt close. Some of the jets on the hottub did not work.
We had 9 family members in our group ranging from 4 to 63.
It's a beautiful old home with very ornate woodwork through out.
Very roomy, and comfortable.
The location is 100% perfect. The front porch faces the water, late at night or early mornings you can hear the water rushing over the waterfall. The property manager responded immediately to any questions.
We will definitely stay here again when we return to the area.
When we got to the house the temperature in the house was 86, the outside temp was 82. The AC was set on 55 though. Call management they sent maintenance who tried to fix but wasnât working. Had to wait till next morning for AC guys. Even after ac was fixed upstairs rooms were still too warm to sleep in. Our mattress in downstairs bedroom needs to be replaced, sags in middle, we kept rolling into each other. Honestly for the cost would not stay here again.
Worked perfectly for our friend group of 6. Within walking distance of the falls, hiking and restaurants in town. We loved the covered porch and deck areas! Wish we had more time to use the hot tub. Highly recommend!
Great Victorian home and property. View was wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay. Smooth check in and check out process.
One improvement suggestion is to make hot tub easier to access. We werenât able to unlock the hot tub unfortunately and had been looking forward to using that amenity.
Great location to stay at Ohiopyle and check out the area. The house was clean with a funky layout. I would suggest hanging space in the bedrooms or hooks in the bathrooms for wet towels and bathing suits.
We all took pleasure in discovering the little joys and fun areas of this property. Whether it be the river across the street, the lovely outdoor amenities, or the clean/cozy inside. Truly a great home.
House was exactly how the pictures look on VRBO, but the location is a lot further than indicated to Seven Spring Ski Resort. Took 35-40 minutes to get there each day. This house is located in a beautiful summer town, not so much a winter town. There is not much around at all to eat or shop. Could have done without the rodents, but itâs an old house. The hot tub jets only worked about half as it should. Dishwasher and coffee maker did not work properly. The hiking trails and river across the street were picturesque.
We had a lovely time visiting Ohiopyle around Thanksgiving time. The house was very clean. Beds were comfortable. There was plenty of seating options in the living area and dining areas. The house stayed surprisingly warm considering that it is an older home. There was beautiful original woodwork throughout the house. The kitchen had everything necessary, but if you prefer to not use nonstick pans and plastic serving ware you might want to consider bringing some of your own cookware. The code for the hot tub was not readily available and I had to email about access so we didnât get the opportunity to use it unfortunately. The town is quaint but many of the shops and restaurants close in the off season (there are a few that stay open). We visited two Frank Lloyd Wright houses while visiting and really enjoyed the tours. Would stay here again if we ever visit Ohiopyle again.
