About a week before I was supposed to stay at this property, I reached out to the owner to see if there was a possibility of checking in early since my partner and I would already be in the area. I would've been totally okay with being told no, but instead I got no response... all week. The day of check-in rolls around and I reach out one more time to double-check, but I get the same: no response. We go to check-in, and see that the place is very obviously dirty: sticky floors, dirty utensils in the clean drawer, a sink that had leftover food stains from the last renter, dirty shower, etc. My partner and I started to clean, and I reached out to the property owner to report the issue. This time they did respond pretty quickly, but only to deny my claims that the place was left dirty and to ask for evidence. I tried to attach photos, but for some reason Vrbo wouldn't let me attach anything. I told this to the property owner and asked for a phone number or another way to contact them and show the evidence, but this message got completely ignored. I will say that the property was conveniently located and in a quiet neighborhood, but other than that the experience was horrible.
