several issues occurred during my stay on 2/18/2026-2/21/2026, which caused significant discomfort and disruption for my family.
When we arrived, we were assigned a room on the opposite end from the one I booked and was told that I could request a change the next morning. Unfortunately, the room had a strong, unpleasant odor from the moment we walked in. Because our flight had been delayed and it was very late, we tried to manage for the night even though the smell made us feel nauseous.
The next morning, I requested the room change I had been told was possible, but was informed it couldn’t be done. I mentioned the odor and was given an air‑freshener spray, but despite airing out the room and cleaning surfaces, the smell persisted and became worse after using the shower. I also noticed black spots on the bathroom vent, which raised concerns about mold.
By around 4:00 a.m., the odor was so overwhelming that my daughters and I felt sick. At that point I went to the front desk and explained that the smell of mold was very strong, and that I think it should be evaluated. Only after that conversation was a room change approved.
I then had to gather all of our belongings and carry everything with my two children to the other side of the hotel in the early hours of the morning. While I appreciated finally being moved, no compensation was offered despite the inconvenience, the health concerns, and the disruption to our stay..
