We absolutely loved this cabin. It's location can't be beat. The views of the river are gorgeous. We watched elk cross the river one evening, and they were on the opposite bank when we woke up the next morning. The cabin is comfortable with a big living room area and a kitchen with everything needed for cooking. The front bedroom upstairs is magical.
This was a beautiful serene place. A great location to celebrate my birthday. The cabin was cozy and clean. The coffee was a nice touch. Three small callouts. We only got one towel and wash cloth for each in a familly of 7. We had 3 under 7 years and with all the amazing hiking we did we could have used more than one towel for 2 nights. We didnt have a plug for a bath. Also, a substantial can opener was needed. The stair on 2nd floor at entrance to the chalet bedroom (which was so incredible) needs to be secured. Its not stable. Other than those very small things it was so wonderful!! The Elk that greeted us upon arrival and before we left was incredible! The fresh clean air and beautiful surroundings inside and out made this a very memorable family occasion. Thank you so much! â€ïž
We had everything we needed.
We loved being by the river in Packwood. The house was comfortable and quirky but the real charm was the outdoors and our access to the river and trails. I spent 90% of my time on the deck watching birds and nature; we even got to see elk in the river. Some parts of the home need some repair but we loved our stay.
Very enjoyable. The cabin interior had many beds and an interesting snow ski motif. The second story outdoor deck overlooked the Cowlitz river and we saw several elk. The night sky was amazing. We would definitely return. Packwood was a nice small town with all the amenities. It was about an hour drive to Paradise and Sunrise on Mt. Rainier.
We enjoyed our 3-night stay here. There was easy access to some nice wooded trails along the river. One early morning we saw 25 elk cross the river directly in front of the house. The only negative on the property was the upstairs did get quite warm and did not cool down until very late in the evening. We knew there was only A/C down but had assumed upstairs would cool down (and most beds are upstairs).
My friends and I stayed here for our annual hiking trip. Loved it! The cabin was cute, clean, and peaceful. The deck and view of the riverâŠbeyond words. To be clearâŠmy friends and I did not actually go HAM. We hiked and relaxed. Our only issues were there was not a washer and dryer, and the outdoor trash bin could be bigger. Regardless, it was fantastic.
Super easy process to rent this beautiful cabin. Absolutely amazing location, very quiet. Spent our days hiking the local area and walking down by the river. There is a trail right behind the property that was a great walk for our dogs. Packwood has good little selection for food as well as a cute local gift shop.
Loved being by the river with the park trails next door. The property is as described. Great feel of seclusion, yet very close to amenities in town if you need food/groceries. Could use a window unit or A/C in the peak of summer, but it cooled down at night (we went at the beginning of September). It is a pet friendly cabin (as is described on the site) and you can tell pets have lived there, so just beware if allergies are an issue or if this is bothersome to you. Again, the property is as described on the site, and we enjoyed our stay.
