Beach Cottage

Great place for a family get together. Plenty of room to spread out. Hot tub and games room were well used. The house is bright, modern and comfortable. Some of the double bedrooms were smaller than expected but fine overall. Beds were very comfortable. It was useful to have extra living space in the annexe. The lounge there became a temporary home office. One downside-the dishwasher was not adequate for the number of people staying at full occupancy. We spent too much time at the kitchen sink. Best of all - it’s right on a fabulous beach. We definitely recommend this property and would stay there again.

The Beech Cottage, Porthcothan. A real Gem.

The Beach Cottage, what a Gem. Frontline position straight on to the beech on Porthcothan. The facilities were excellent including a hot tub and bar in its own room in the the garden. This was a real blessing as the weather was pretty awful during our stay but the kids, loved it. All Bedrooms were all of excellent size and most with beautiful en-suites. Great view of the beach from the master suite Games room was well equipped with large flat tv's and lovely furnishings throughout. Really good Egg BBQ and seating outside. Big kitchen and diner with enough designer crockery, etc for many diners with all the appliances one needed. Next door, a really good beach shop selling, fresh pasties and the best ice cream. Short Stays where very helpful throughout. All 9 of us had a great time. Look forward to returning.

Fabulous house in a fabulous location

Beach Cottage has everything you can possibly want in a holiday home including a brilliant beach shop and cafe next door. We were a party of 7-9 adults and three dogs and everyone had a wonderful stay in this beautiful place.

Beautiful home in a fab setting

The house was lovely and equipped with everything we could need. The green egg was a challenge at first but one we got over easily. We will miss Our pre-dinner swims and hot tub soaks. The house is well located for some amazing coastal walks. We loved our stay.

An absolute Gem of a property

This is a real beauty! The location will blow you away. Right on the beach and yet very private. The house has everything that a family could want and it is top notch equipment. The house is spacious and although there was 10 of us at the property we didn’t feel cramped. The kids loved the games room and the view from the master suite will knock tour socks off! Great hosts and We will definitely be going back one day.

Life on the beach!

We chose Beach Cottage because it is actually on the beach just behind the dunes – a 3 minute stroll to a huge sandy beach with no roads to cross and dogs are welcome all-year round on the beach. When we arrived we found Beach Cottage warm, light and spacious and we particularly appreciated the Welcome Pack after a long journey. The facilities are exceptional – all rooms are well appointed both in the main house and annexe (which we also used) and the linen was crisp and fresh. We had a minor glitch with the hot tub on arrival – it was cold! Shore Stays quickly resolved this next day (a Saturday!) and it performed faultlessly for the rest of our stay – great after a day out! The teenagers thoroughly appreciated the Games Room Pool Table. Outside there is parking for 4 cars and 2 EV charge points, a working phone box if needed (no mobile signal at all), a Royal Mail post box and a beach shop - 2-minute stroll from the front door and Barney will be happy to supply you with papers, coffee, ice creams, cakes, pasties or whatever takes your fancy! Next to the telephone box is a bus stop (hourly) so jump on the double decker and let somebody else navigate the lanes to Padstow! In short, it was everything we wanted – and then some. Thoroughly recommended by our group of 7.

Annual Padstow Adventure

We come down annually as a family to the padstow food festival ( covid allowing). This year 7 of us with a 10 week old baby. This house was perfect. The annex was great for baby and family...really well thought out..with its own little kitchen complete with coffee machine. The main kitchen was great...easy to cook a full Cornish for 7..lovely cutlery and China and just generally well equipped to a very high spec. The games room was great. TV area ...really good TV for watching the world Cup....though the sofa could do with being bigger to accommodate a big party....long with the seating in the pool room. The bedrooms and bathrooms were exceptional.....along with location...right on the beach. Lots of lovely towels Finally the hot tub room....what can I say ....just perfect, great jets really warm and held its heat..lovely bar area complete with fridge....what a great time we had. I would thoroughly recommend to everyone. Really good comms too. Thank you

Beach bliss

House and location amazing. We were blessed with great weather that allowed us to see some amazing sunsets over the sea from the balcony. The children, ranging in ages from 9 to 18, had the best time exploring the coves, and body boarding on the beach, which is straight out of the back gate and over the sand dune. The house itself was immaculate, stylish, well equipped, of high spec, and had plenty of room for 11 guests. We were all able to find our own space for some quiet time, and come together when we wanted to. The shop next door does lovely fresh coffee, stunning ice creams, and freshly cooked pasties and sausage rolls that were just too tempting to resist. The costal open top bus, stops right outside, and will take you to most of the beaches between Padstow and Newquay, which is a great alternative to finding parking, and fun for the kids. We all had the best time and made some great memories and would love to come again.
