Sleeping Bear Cabin was a lovely place to stay. However, persons who have difficulty climbing stairs would have a hard time staying here. There was a flight of stairs up to the front door, another up to the loft bedroom, and another down to the laundry area.
We booked this cabin because of the hot tub and it being pet friendly. The hot tub did not heat up whatsoever and after contacting the host, they did not do anything to resolve the issue. The ceilings were covered in cob webs as well. Not worth the money.
Stay overall was great, cabin was nice and cozy. Just a couple of FYIs microwave didnât work which I only tried using once and the hot tub only warmed up to 95 degrees.
We enjoyed our stay. We especially enjoyed having a Hot tub on the cold days. The cabin was not as large as the pictures suggest. We did have a nice stay and we would certainly stay there again.
We really enjoyed our stay at the house! It's cozy, loved the hottub and grills on the back porch! The fenced in back yard was great for our toddler to run around in!
My only complaint is that there was dog hair on stairs and was sticking to the kids pants since he crawls/runs around! It is a pet friendly house but expected it to be vacuumed before arrival
Unfortunately, we had several spiders in the house, shower, and repelled down over the hot tub. There was a general lack of maintenance to the house (dish washer ran but the top rolling rack was broken, garbage disposal didn't work, the grill's grease trap was full causing a mess, a top beam had mold on it).
The area was nice but we would go with a different host next time.
Home was everything we needed for our week long stay. Yard was perfect for our dogs. Even had a few deer in the yard while we there. Enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the front balcony in the mornings while having morning coffee. Nice to have access to garage which helped with loading and unloading vehicle. Location was ideal for our agenda. Highly recommend.
Great cabin. Clean. Nice furniture, beds, and hot tub. Space was great for relaxing and enjoying the cool breeze with front and back doors open. Nearby Pagosa attractions were a short drive away. Had a really nice stay.
We were very happy staying at sleeping bear cabin. More lighting in the living room for reading would be nice. Also just fyi the clasps on the hot tub cover were broken and the top of the dishwasher rack was broken on the left side but everything worked⊠property manager was awesome! Would recommend in a heartbeat!
My family of 2 adults, four teens/tweens, and 2 labradors stayed here for about a week in early January. We went skiing for four days at Wolf Creek Ski Area which was about a 40 minute (dry roads) to 70 minute (icy/snowy) drive from the cabin. The skiing was amazing! Lots of snow! After skiing we would jump in the hot tub at the cabin which felt relaxing. In the evenings we played ping pong in the garage. The kitchen was decently stocked, and there was plenty of bedding blankets, etc. The fenced backyard was perfect for our two labradors. Communication was very easy with the rental management (Vacasa) through text message. We had fun and would definetly stay again.
A wonderful place to stay. The cabin was well decorated. Very clean except for the mold on the bottom of the shower curtains. Could use a drywall repair in the downstairs bedroom.
We had a great time and enjoyed the cabin and the surrounding neighborhood. The Cabin is on the main road so it is not quite or private. Located with great access to hiking and Hatcher Lake.
Cute, spacious, quiet cabin. Note: does not have air conditioning
This cabin was cute, cozy, clean, and the perfect size for two people. The area was nice and private, and also very quiet. It was a little out further away from the town, but it was an easy drive to get into town. The only feedback I would offer is to disclose on the listing that there is no air conditioning. It wouldâve made us more prepared to either bring a portable unit, or perhaps, choose another listing. I understand itâs the mountains, but current global warming I believe does not allow for absolutely no air or just fans to keep cool. A portable unit wouldâve been perfect. If not for this, I wouldâve given it five stars.
The 2 feet of snow that fell... making the back yard a perfect place to build a snow fort... was just a bonus on top of the ping-pong and hot tubbing. The home is cozy and has everything you need to stay in for meals. Truly a home away from home! (We had so much fun playing ping-pong we ordered a table for our actual home!)
Was the perfect size for my wife, two daughters (7&10) and I for our week stay over Christmas. We really appreciated them decorating for Christmas complete with full size tree. Did not need to set up our tiny one we had brought! Very clean. Nice hot tub.
