About this property

Cowboy Loft at Azevedo Ranch - Peaceful Stay Near Bryce with Lake

Welcome to Azevedo Ranch — a peaceful, one-of-a-kind stay in the high desert just minutes from Bryce Canyon.

Our ranch is a rare 101-acre oasis in this desert landscape, with green grass, mature trees, and a small on-site lake that brings life and calm to the property. We have 1/4 mile of the Sevier River on our property.

It’s a place to slow down, breathe, and enjoy a quieter pace — whether you’re visiting the national parks or simply looking for a comfortable place to land.

The Cowboy Loft is one of three guest houses on our family-owned ranch and offers a spacious, comfortable home base for your stay. You’ll have your own detached, private unit located above the garage of the Lake House, with beautiful views to the east and west. There are 2 queen beds (one Murphy in the Family Room), a Kitchenette ad Bathroom, so you have room to relax inside and out, while still being part of the wider ranch setting.

The lake is a special feature of the ranch and is shared among the three guest accommodations on the property. It’s stocked and if you have a Utah fishing license, you can fish! (Catch and release only). Each space is separate and private, but you may see other guests enjoying the grounds during your stay.

You’ll also notice animals around the ranch — part of what gives this place its charm. This is a hobby ranch, not a commercial farm, but the presence of animals adds to the experience in a way that feels grounded and real. Wild eagles, owls, hawks, antelope and deer live on the ranch as well as our own cattle, goats, chickens, horses and alpaca!

We’re located just off Highway 89, about 1.9 miles south of the turnoff to Bryce Canyon (Highway 12). That makes this an ideal home base for exploring Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, and the surrounding area — while staying somewhere that feels peaceful and removed from the crowds.

The Cowboy Loft has a kitchenette (no stove/oven, but a full fridge, cooktop with 2 burners, microwave and toaster), a small dining table, murphy. bed in the family room and a queen bed in the bedroom. It’s a cozy place to stay, whether you’re here for a few nights or a longer visit.

It’s well-suited for individuals, couples, or families with 2-3 kids who want space to roam. The Cowboy Loft is accessed via a staircase on the back of the garage; guests must be able to climb stairs. Please excercise safety with young children. We also a have a shared picnic table and fire pit just outside the garage, for making S’mores. The entire experience is a relaxed, peaceful environment to come back to at the end of the day.

Outside, you can enjoy the open space, fresh air, and the unique beauty of the ranch. Mornings are quiet and calm. Evenings are perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.

Stargazing here is incredible, right from the front lawn! We know you’ll love this special place.

A few important notes:

The ranch includes three separate guest rentals (Lake House, Cowboy Loft, and Cowboy Cabin)
The common areas shared with other guests include parking, lake with canoe, river, 2nd camp fire ring (the one in front of the Cabin is exclusive for Cowboy Cabin guests) and surrounding pastures and forests.
The owner lives on-site in a separate private residence.
This is a peaceful, rural setting — not a resort or event venue (although we can host events with prior approval)
No pets, no camping, and no events without prior approval
Do not feed our animals. However, you can ask to participate with ranch work and feedings! We are happy to share our pets with you!
Feel free to roam and explore all 101 acres; exercise common sense and safety!

Your property will be unlocked and ready for you when you arrive.

If you need anything during your stay, feel free to reach out.

— Lex de Azevedo

Great stay but hard to locate

Great stay but was a bit confusing to find and locate. The pictures were olde so when we arrived, there were a lot more bushes obstructing our view. Also advertised washer and dryer but had to ask permission to use the ones in the garage and set a day and time, and then the dryer didn’t seem to dry. Not sure that the price should be what it is per night with little access to washer and dryer and having the directions not work well to get to the ranch. Parking was really odd as well. But besides those things, it was a great stay and nice ranch.
