Excellent hotel in a great location

Victoria Place is an excellent hotel and I have stayed here several times. The service is great, the rooms are comfortable with nice beds. It is on a quiet street but with 1-2 min from shops and restaurants (and the metro).

I've stayed at this hotel multiple times, including with family and for business. It's always been great but this was my least favourite of my stays, unfortunately. We ended up in a very poky room (all the others I'd stayed in were nicer) and it felt like it needed some TLC compared to previous years (fixtures were wobbly, paint peeling away, etc). One of my absolute favourite things about this hotel however, was just how friendly the staff were. They would always welcome us back and even remember little things. This time was completely different, the only communication taking place being the obligatory check-in talk. Shame as we were deliberating on another hotel this time but choose here out of loyalty and past experiences. I do like Victoria Palace very much so I'm hoping they return top their previous standards soon!

Stayed Before—Wouldn’t Stay Again

While I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel a few years back, I was sorely disappointed in the service and cleanliness. For a hotel that markets itself as a “luxury boutique” hotel, I was shocked to find the staff sitting in a coworking space (designed for guests) adjacent to the entry rather than standing to greet guests in the reception area. There was no concierge and no bell boy to help me with my bags. The hotel’s excuse was that as a 4-star hotel they are not required to have a concierge. This is absurd. I have been to 4-star hotel with Golden Key concierge staff (the highest level of training possible). Needless to say, don’t expect help from the hotel staff to make dinner reservations, print out the train schedule, or help you with your bags. You’re on your own at Victoria Palace. Furthermore, while I like the decor, the cleaning is subpar, as there was mold in my shower and stains on the carpet. This once lustrous hotel has seen better days—and better service!

What a beautiful hotel! Clean, spacious rooms , lots of extra touches, bed comfortable. Good location, train or bus in close proximity. Or you may choose to walk. Breakfast buffet was good, a bit pricey for what you get. Nice bar, nice little outdoor courtyard. Definitely will stay again.

The staff were completely indifferent to any issues that impacted our stay. We booked the sauna for 1 hour and after 15 minutes we were told to leave because another family had a reservation for the same hour. Staff member gaslighted us when we informed her we had booked it the night before. The next morning we informed the front desk that there wasn’t any hot water in the shower. She informed us she was aware that there was a problem and proceeded to go on about her business. Hot water issue wasn’t resolved and we checked out. Staff members can been seen daily, preoccupied on their laptops in an adjacent room next to the lobby. We will avoid this place in the future.
