The NIGHT before our arrival, vacasa calls to tell me that the large pool pictured in the listings would not be open but they would be happy to refund my money. The night before my trip, with 4 kids, and you offer me a refund? I asked for something other than a full refund or nothing, i was told and i quote "i just needed you to ask that, i will pass that note on and someone will call you back to offer compensation". No one ever called back.
I continued to call and text throughout my stay, never to receive a call back.
Turns out the pool wasn't closed but a measure to control the crowds. I found this out from the locals.
I finally speak with a human from vacasa who tries to tell me the call was a mistake and that "technically, that pool wasn't even meant for my building". The fact that this pool is the second picture in the advertising for the unit meant nothing to her comment. Crystal then proceeds to offer my 25$ off the daily rate for the 3.5 days i didn't have access to the pool. That wasn't sufficient so Crystal proceeds to tell me she will have her boss call me. That was well over a week ago.
In addition to this fiasco, we asked for a broom or something to sweep up the sand we would drag in. We asked on monday, it was delivered the thursday, the day before we checked out.
The unit was just ok. It really lacked some basics and the as long as you didn't want to sit on the couch or on the patio.
The couch springs hit you right where the sun dont shine and the patio furniture was broken but yet strategically placed so you couldn't tell unless you wanted to sit down. At which point you'd be lucky not to fall over from the broken chairs.
Perdido is beautiful but Vacasa left a major blemish on this families vacation. I will never book another property through vacasa again.
