We stayed in a State Room, which was nicely decorated and came with a spacious and pretty bathroom. The room was really comfortable. Location is great - convenient and few-minutes walk to Fremantle Markets, shops and dining places. There’s some limited parking spaces but we managed to park there as needed. Service staff were helpful and friendly. Only minor complaint is that the corridors outside the lifts and the floor of our room could be vacuumed a little more.

Very good location. Staff pleasant and extra helpful. We knew on booking that the room was small but the layout made it ok for our comfort. Only small concern to mention, twice a day strong cooking smells seemed to come through the air conditioning. Only briefly. Breakfast very adequate and beautifully served, ambience great, wine gift very welcome.Distance to Rottnest ferry, very walkable.

Unique boutique

Thanks for taking this first-timer me on board Hougoumont! Quite a unique boutique tucked in the centre of Fremantle (Walyalup). Appreciate the personalised in-room welcome message :)) Just a stone’s glide from Walyalup Koort (city square), where I had my lunch at FOMO. There is also a library, which I missed in this voyage (but definitely shall try next time!). Plenty of dining options staying up late. I didn’t get a chance to try the next-door Calamity’s Rod or the QR-distance Emily Taylor. Perhaps next time, too! Had a restful evening and a restful sleep in the well-sound-proofed, well-appointed cabin. Blessed with a quiet drizzly morning for a breakfast. The sorrounding views: the narrow courtyard, the artwork, the street on each different side, and the calm guitar setting the perfect mood. Will definitely drop anchor again in the future!

Like the convenient location and modern clean rooms. Not keen on the free breakfast which is inadequate for the number of guests (rather pay and actually have a decent breakfast). Rooms still good since last time I stayed but disappointed that yet again there was no milk in the rooms for tea or coffee and staff didn’t ask if I enjoyed my stay, merely took back the room key and said “thanks”

Could be better for the price charged.

Not a bad hotel, but facilities could be better for the price point. Rooms are very small with almost no space for luggage. Breakfast was very simple - muesli, jams and toast. Hotel was clean.
