Vintage A-frame Cabin with Private River and Scenic Views

Little Wolf Den - A-Frame Cabin. (STR#000358) Escape into the mountains to this destination location where fresh alpine air and a scenic river await your arrival. Nestled in a rural mountain community, along a wild and winding river, our A-frame cabins are situated on two acres with spectacular views. A secluded trail from your cabin leads down to the river where you will find our private beach. While your cabin is backyard to the Enchantments, we are only 15 minutes from Leavenworth and your pets stay free!

Want to see videos of our property during different seasons, see what others have written in our guest book, or discover the excitement of Otter Rapids? …then find us on IG @ Alpineliving_

This cabin is surrounded by lush overhanging branches and nestled amongst the thick trunks of Ponderosa Pine and Douglas Firs. Because this A-frame cabin is built on a small bluff and overlooks the Peshastin Creek amongst a gorgeous tree canopy, many guests have described the feel of our cabin like staying in a magical tree house. Thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows, the ever-changing scenery of wildlife and seasons can all be enjoyed right from the comfort of your living room. This ski cabin was constructed in 1968 to stay warm during the coldest of winters and is one of the original cabins built in this rural recreational community. The cabin’s rustic character has been carefully preserved, while striking a balance with modern upgrades and contemporary improvements.

SPRING AND SUMMER
The main attraction from your cabin will definitely be the river, which is usually crystal clear and beautiful in color. Collapsable REI river chairs are provided for the enjoyment of our private beach and property. In early spring you can watch rafters and kayakers fight the rapids from the comfort of your deck. In late summer the river is perfect for soaking your feet and cooling off. We also have several picnic tables around our property for enjoying homecooked meals while taking in views and sounds of the river.

WINTER
When winter arrives, the trail down to the river becomes our famous sledding hill, where you can bring your own sleds or use the ones we provide. We also offer snowshoe rentals ($10) so you and your family can explore our property and the famous Ingall’s Creek Trail only minutes away. Never snowshoed before? That’s ok, you will find a snowhoeing book in your cabin for beginners to advanced and every rental comes with a free lesson.❄️ Although our driveway is quickly plowed after each snowstorm, vehicles with AWD are strongly recommended during the winter season. **No snowboarding or skiing allowed on the property**

NEIGHBORHOOD AMENITIES
We are one block from the neighborhood community playground where you will find swings, slides, picnic tables, a basketball court and baseball diamond. You will also have access to a spring-fed swimming pond during the summer months. As mentioned we are five minutes from the famous Ingall's Creek Trail which is excellent for scenic hiking, snowshoeing and horseback riding. At the trail's end you will find breathtaking Lake Ingall's and the base of Mount Stuart.

Your cabin is just a short drive away from 97 Rock House, which is a popular spot to enjoy a variety of hand crafted coffee drinks (espresso beans are roasted on site and in small batches), local draft beer, hand-spun milk shakes, breakfast/lunch and they are also pet friendly. (Open 8-5pm daily). During the summer they have live performances by local musicians.

*NOTE* This cabin is perfectly designed to be small and cozy, but also have everything you need to both live and work comfortably. A majority of our guests are single couples or families with small children. This cabin can easily accommodate 3-4 adults, but it will be on the cozy side. Ladder-like stairs lead to the loft bedroom with queen size bed. Also, access to the bathroom is through the downstairs bedroom, so keep that in mind for any nighttime restroom needs. The stairs leading up to your cabin have 12 steps. There is a small trail with a slight downhill grade that leads to our river. If you are elderly or have any mobility issues the above notes might be good to consider. Some outdoor road noise due to proximity to Hwy 97. I live on the adjacent lot in the cedar home and am usually available to provide assistance.

Looking to have a more private couples getaway with your friends or have a larger family? Rent both of our cabins! The other cabin is just a short walk away, but each cabin has it's own complete privacy. The listing number for the other cabin is VRBO 124353 (Nordic Pine).

*CANCELLATIONS*
We allow cancellations if they are more that 30 days out from your date of arrival. However, we recommend purchasing Travelers Insurance for any unexpected event, inclement weather, forest fire or emergency that may arise less than 30 days before your check-in date.

A nice little place to stay. It is very small and cozy, there were 3 of us there most of the time so it could be close quaters at times. I was a bit disappointed that the river sat so far below the cabin. While there is a trail to the stream I thought the walk back up the hill would be a challenge for me (I have some balance issues). The highway across from the cabin was loud at times, and it is a very well traveled road. So glad for the A/C at the temps were in the upper 90's. The bed in the main downstairs bedroom was a pretty tight squeeze for 2 adults. Perhaps a better door for the bathroom could be installed. Nice location outside of Leavenworth.

This is truly a gem of property. Private access to a wonderful stretch of stream that has some deeper pools for swimmers but also shallow rock gathering stretch. Two a frames situated to afford privacy and host cabin nearby. Close to hiking , Leavenworth , fruitstands. Great functional touches throughout including mini marshal amp for blue tooth streaming. The owner Sherry and her adult son John currently assisting are the most attentive hosts weve encountered while still allowing privacy. I cant recommend this location enough!

This was our 1st time bringing our 8 month old son to stay at the cabin, and it was wonderful! Best family vacation ever, we had relaxation time at the creek, lunch on the patio, and the pups enjoyed walks around the neighborhood. Can't wait to go back! Thank you Johnny and Sherry for another memorable trip.

Perfectly appointed cabin getaway

The Wolf’s Den was a perfect little weekend getaway. We were delighted by the beautiful property and cabin, which was surprisingly private even while on a shared lot with the host and another cabin. The inside was adorably decorated and thoughtfully appointed with everything we could need. I felt cared for by the host with little touches from a little jar of jumbo marshmallows with pumpkin spice and cinnamon for hot cocoa to white Christmas lights in the windows and a shelf full of movie selections with microwave popcorn. Our teenagers even managed to be charmed!

Nice cottage in a neighborhood

Cute retro A frame cottage beside a creek. The Queen bed is in the loft area. We sleep in a double next to a wall on the main floor of the cottage. Bed was comfy. Not cottage is not very private unfortunately and a lot of traffic noise....Almost drowned out by the nice sound of the creek but not quite.

Family trip

My husband and I stayed with our 2 elementary school aged daughters and had a wonderful stay. It was our first time in Leavenworth and we enjoyed every bit. The cabin was a perfect size for our family. Sherry and her son were on the ball with helping us when needed. We loved the river and location. It is an easy, quick drive to the coffee shop across the road and to downtown Leavenworth.

Vintage Aframe cabin

Lovely, accomodating hosts. 5 stars! They definitely were wanting to provide guests with any needs. Cabin was adorable. Bed downstairs bit small for 2 adults with the slanted ceiling. Though it is on 2 acres, it is not actually private as hosts live right next to cabin and there's also a cabin about 75 feet away. Recommend this cabin for young couples weekend getaway. Another plus is they allow dogs and were very friendly with ours. Nice people and friendly neighborhood. Oh, and the neighborhood swimming pond was a definite bonus on on hot day!

Solid 4 stars - worth checking out

The host was excellent with communication. Cats are welcome, and the host even brought freeze-dried treats for our two cats, which was a thoughtful touch. A welcome note, drinks, and snacks were also provided—such a kind gesture. The cabin had all the necessary appliances for a comfortable stay. Our favorite part was lounging by the river or relaxing on the patio. The sound of the flowing river made us feel completely connected to nature.
The cats give the cabin two paws up!
