If you are planning a visit to Petersburg, VA start with where you would like to stay. The Ragland Mansion is a gem of a Bed and Breakfast. The owner Claudia is so sweet and accommodating. The room my wife and I stayed in was well appointed with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We loved the late 1800 appeal. If you are visiting the battlefields this will complement your trip. Enjoy!
A pleasant flash-back to a charming & romantic era
My stay in this absolutely charming bed-and-breakfast built in 1856 was such a refreshing change from the many hotels Iâve stayed in my travels.
The proprietor takes great care in giving all of her guests her personal attention.
Top marks!
This property was very clean and absolutely beautiful.
The innkeeper was very friendly and accommodating.
When I arrived , I was a little confused about getting into the building & there was a live dj / party across the street that rattled the windows until 10:00pm. After they closed that down, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Room was fantastic, bed was comfortable and the breakfast was exceptional! Overall I would definitely recommend The Ragland Mansion.
This is a beautiful antique home with lovely furnishings and comfortable furniture/beds. The staff is super thoughtful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We hope to be back soon!!
Ragland Mansion was a very large private home begun in 1850 and completed in 1856. After many years of various uses including apartments it was restored to close to original and made into a comfortable B&B. Claudia, the Innkeeper, is fantastic. She runs the show and makes sure the breakfast you order appears at your table at exactly the right time. She knows the area and is gifted with the perfect disposition for hospitality.
