First, I paid for a room with a Queen-sized bed. Instead, I was given a room with a smaller, standard-sized double bed. Second, this property is in need of upgrade. For example, the room air conditioner had two settings. "Off". . . which rendered the room hot and stuffy. "On". . . which rendered to room shiveringly frigid. The cold air blew forcefully onto the bed making it hard to sleep.

I feel like I found a hidden gem. The hotel has an old-fashioned charm to it (right down to having a physical key instead of a keycard) that fits in well with the historic Philly area. The room was spacious and clean and updated. The staff was helpful, referring us to a great restaurant. We did not eat at the on-site restaurant but went there for a drink afterwards. The wine selection was amazing (a Guiness World Record for largest winekeeper!) and the bartender was fantastic. A welcome place to stay if you're looking to avoid a chain hotel.

Rooms were very large and open. Room very updated even though hotel is very old. Staff very good. No breakfast, however good muffins and coffee in lobby. Nice view from room of River, close walk to subway, bus and old town. Good A/C which was needed in 103 degree heat outside.

I like the location, although the sounds from the traffic may bother some. Only other issue is the blinds are slats, and the rooms adjacent to the parking lot next door allow light into the room. It didn’t bother me, but may cause others to have difficulty with the light seeping into the room. Hotel is clean, I’ve stayed several times. I did not try the restaurant.
