We didn’t love our stay at the Katathani Resort.
While the staff were lovely, kind, and always smiling, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The resort’s location is very remote — there’s not much within easy walking distance — and to make matters worse, there was heavy construction right outside the property. Any time we wanted to walk anywhere, we had to pass through huge, muddy construction puddles. It was really unpleasant.
Our room smelled musty from the moment we arrived, and the beds were unbelievably hard — the pool loungers were actually softer than the mattress.
We spent most of our time at the adult pool, which had several signs asking for quiet and relaxation, but unfortunately this wasn’t enforced. There were groups of young people yelling and playing loudly while staff didn’t intervene at all.
After three days, we honestly couldn’t wait to leave. The surrounding Kata/Karon area is similar to other parts of Phuket, so you can easily find a better resort elsewhere and probably enjoy your stay much more.
