A chocolate box cottage, in a chocolate box village, next door to a little chocolate factory. Does it get any better? Forge House is a beautifully maintained home from home, warm and cosy and perfectly situated, only a moment’s walk from two nice pubs and a number of shops. The cottage interior is tastefully decorated, the lounge/diner offering a wonderfully relaxed ambience, with double doors that open onto a delightful little terrace that overlooks a beck. We had a lot of fun feeding the ducks that came to visit us. The bathrooms and bedrooms are absolutely pristine and our bed, in particular, was super comfortable. Special mention has to go to the kitchen where literally every utensil, gadget and amenity is provided. Think of something random and it’s likely to be there. The location is also one of the cottage’s best features. Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Scarborough, Pickering or Dalby Forest are all within easy reach and this is why we’d love to return to Forge House next time we visit our favourite part of Yorkshire. It certainly ticks all our boxes.
